Bright light blinded John as he materialised wherever Xiaolin had brought him, causing him to close his eye and stagger a moment, disoriented from the teleport. After a few moments, he managed to reorient himself and look around.
He was standing on one of Xiaolin’s castle patios, though this time, instead of the mountains, they were on a long white-sand beach facing a cerulean ocean. He was not alone either, as there were dozens of people on the beach, both human and beastfolk alike. Well, catfolk anyway. He didn’t see any other races of beastfolk other than different varieties of felines.
“Xiaolin? Where-” He started to ask, but then noticed he was alone on the patio, other than some furniture. On a nearby side table was a drink mixing station, along with a little note.
[Honey, make yourself a drink and head down to the fifth cabana on the left. You have some homework to do before you forget again, so I won’t bother you until you finish. Oh, the people here are friendly, so feel free to chat with anyone if you wish. Welcome to Pantheria, the homeworld of the Neko races.]
John read it again, then placed it back on the table. He never thought about it before, but once she became a DEN goddess, she could easily return to any of the worlds she had completed. This must have been the one that she was a Tigerfolk in, and became their queen at one point.
She is right, though. I’ve been putting this off long enough. Let’s go through everything to see exactly what it all does.
He looked down at the drink table and sighed. There were a lot of different options, but none of them was liquor he recognised. He ended up just sniffing a few of them, then poured something that kind of smelled like bourbon into a hollowed-out coconut mug. Armed with his drink, he made his way down to the beach.
Several of the catfolk waved to him, but none bothered him as he walked along the beach towards where he could see some cabanas. He did pause near a beach volleyball game that some of the Neko ladies were playing when their ball landed at his feet. He tossed it back to the very bubbly, white-haired woman, who thanked him sweetly and then bounced back to their court. He watched their game for a couple of minutes, purely for research purposes, but didn’t linger long. He had things to do.
The cabana Xiaolin directed him to was interesting. While its outside was thatched and looked like a stereotypical tropical hut with low walls, the inside was filled with pillows, pillows of all shapes and sizes. He took his sandals off and climbed through the deceptively deep pile until he found one that looked like a beanbag chair and flopped himself down in it. He could easily overlook the beach from here, watching as people were enjoying the sun. There was something else he noticed as well, that there were very few men, only a handful on the entire beach.
I wonder what that is about? Did something happen on this planet like in Infinite Frontiers?
He put that out of his mind and took a sip of his fake-bourbon and opened his stats window and started to read through every description he could find.
[Mana]
The energy used to fuel magic. Increase your base pool by spending stat points. In worlds with innate magic, the pool is increased by your intelligence score, while your regen is based on Intelligence and Wisdom scores.
Current Regen – Wis 50 + Int 50 = 100/4 = 25 MP/h
[Strength]
Your raw physical power. Dictates how much you can lift and carry, and how easily you can handle heavy things like machine guns, large melee weapons, or moving that couch into your house by yourself.
[Reflex]
Your reaction speed and perception. This is more about responding to things than actual movement speed. The higher the number, the faster you can respond to a situation. Whether it is a fast punch, an arrow, or a muzzle flash in the distance, this stat allows you to respond faster. Or if someone drops something, you might be able to catch it before it hits the ground.
[Speed]
Speed is about how fast you can move, from swinging a weapon to your sprinting speed. Combined with strength to improve how hard you can hit in close-quarters combat.
[Endurance]
Also known as Constitution. How long you can exert yourself before becoming tired, and along with strength, is how much punishment your body can take. Endurance is also tied to hit points in worlds with systems, but don’t get fooled by those. This is real life, not a video game. A gunshot to the head will kill you even if you are at full health.
[Intelligence]
Allows you to gain and retain information more easily. Increases your spells’ base power, mana regen, and size of your mana pool in worlds with innate magic.
[Wisdom]
Allows you to use your body and skills with greater efficiency as you gain more in this stat. Increases resistance against hostile spells and mana regen.
[Luck]
Abstract concept. Increases your chances of winning games of chance or having random events happen around you.
[DEN Achievements]
[You Can Bring It With You]
You can bring a small amount of stats and the skills you learned with you as you travel between worlds.
[Clan Wayne]
Anyone who is bonded with you or sworn into your service receives a training bonus. 10% bonus to any training they undertake. No range penalty.
“Well, that is the main screen. Now for the next tab.” John said to himself, then took another sip of his drink. It was kind of cherry-flavoured, whatever it was. He didn’t hate it, but would probably try something else next time.

John needed to take a break after reading all that, but he did it. He now knew the extent of all his abilities and equipment, though he still had one menu he couldn’t check out yet.
The Party Menu.
He stood up, grabbed his coconut mug and made his way back to the patio. The volleyball game was over, and the ladies had all moved to the water, so he didn’t stop to conduct further scientific research. He was wondering where his date had gotten off to when suddenly she materialised beside him, with two coconut mugs in her hands.
“Hello, hansom. Did you finish already?” She asked, making his mug disappear and handing him a new one. He gratefully accepted the drink.
“Mmm… this is good.” He said after tasting it. It was white and tasted like some sort of margarita. “Yeah, pretty much. I seemed to have accumulated a lot of skills and abilities in the few months I have been here at DEN.”
“Yes. You are not the same man that arrived here, that’s for sure.” She replied, taking his arm and walking back towards the cabana.
“The only thing left is the party menu. How do I use it?”
“Oh, just look at me and think ‘Invite Xiaolin to the Party’ and it will send me an invite. Whoever you send one to has to accept, but when they do, you will get access to their menu, and the bonuses will be applied.”
“Easy enough,” He said, then said the words in his mind.
Invite Xiaolin to the Party
After a moment, the party screen showed up in front of him, giving him a list of her stats.
[Name – Xiaolin]

“Oh, that is interesting. Why… why does it say how horny you are?” He asked, already knowing the answer.
“Let’s you gauge the needs of your lovers, of course.” She said, then pouted a bit at his frown. “Don’t give me that look. I didn’t make the system; I just had to use it like you. Now, open up the details.”
[Stats]

“That is incredible… and kind of invasive, isn’t it?”
Kind of? That is an understatement. And holy crap, infinity symbols galore.
“A bit, but you can choose not to use it if you don’t want to. However, the bonuses for anyone who cherishes you are quite useful. That party menu upgrade you received a while ago is really effective when you are training. If I needed it, anything I trained in would be doubly effective.”
“What… oh yeah, I forgot about that,” John said, remembering his previous DEN trip and getting something in the Eroge that boosted the party menu.
“Take a look at your own, you get a bonus as well.”
He opened his own stat window and scrolled down a bit to see.

[DEN Achievements – You Can Bring It With You, Clan Wayne]

[Party Boost – 50% Experience/Stat Boost from (1/10) Party members within 100 metres of you.]
“For everyone in your party who has a love or loyalty score of 70 or higher, you get an additional 50% boost. It stacks up quite nicely in adventurer parties, or even just a bunch of people working out at the gym together. Hell, when I was studying magic, I was good friends with ten other people, which gave me a 500% boost to how easily I could retain information. ” Xiaolin explained, then added when he raised his eyebrow at that. “You don’t need to be making love to people to have them love or be loyal to you. Sheesh, John, get your head out of the gutter.”
“I didn’t say anything.” He replied, closing the screen and wrapping his arm around the tigerfolk woman. He had had enough of that bullshit for one day; if he needed to look at it again, it was only going to be in small doses.
The pair of them entered the cabana, all thoughts of his system being left behind. That was DEN business, and he was on vacation right now.
On vacation with a very horny tigerfolk woman.
Heh, I’m in danger.
