“It was lucky they didn’t just impact directly on the station. They both might still be alive.” John offered Greg, the dwarf seemingly in distress about what he was watching on the television.

“Maybe. They were still near top speed when the crash occurred. That’s a lot of inertia to absorb.” He replied. 

They watched the show for a few more minutes as the remaining racers crossed the line. The announcers then came back to the crash.

“Recovery crews have arrived on the scene. Ladies and Gentlemen, we are finally receiving data from the pods, and the life support systems are still active in both. We are told both pilots are alive and will be rushed to Parrax General in a few minutes.” Darnell said. To his side was a screen showing the recovery ship slicing open Serena’s pod, the crew attempting to gain access to the cockpit without damaging its integrity further.

“What an amazing finish for a qualifying match!” Ananta said.

“Indeed. As recovery is ongoing, our thoughts are with the pilots and their families. They put up a hell of a battle, but in the end, the dark horse could not take out our reigning champion.” 

“Well, she did take her out in the end.”

“Too soon, Ananta. We will be back with more coverage of this accident, right after a word from our sponsors.” Darnell said, and the feed cut to a commercial. 

*Beep, Beep*

“Damn it. I need to head to the hospital,” Greg said, standing up.

“To go see Serena?” John asked.

“Yep. I’m her emergency contact. There are going to be a ton of papers to sign… and well, other things.” Greg said, turning a bit pale.

Chris sighed. “I’ll go collect what is left of her pod for a damage assessment then. You know, fixing this won’t be cheap, right? It might be better to buy a new one.”

“Yeah, I know. John, Niki, thank you for coming this evening, but we need to go and deal with this. Tanya, guard Chris, please. After this afternoon, I don’t trust Timur and Camila’s thugs not to take advantage of this to take another shot at her.” Greg said. 

“I’ll come with you, Greg. I need to check on my girl. Maybe make fun of her if she isn’t badly injured.” Ash said, getting up as well.”

“Okay. Do you want me to cure you of any intoxication?” John asked them.

“If you don’t mind, it will save us from stopping by an Auto-Doc before signing anything,” Greg replied. John cured them, and the group got up and made their way out to the corridor. Greg and Ash broke off immediately to head to the hospital, while Tanya and Chris followed John and Niki, as the Phoenix Hawk was docked near where the remnants of the pod would be dropped off.

John and Tanya made small talk on the walk, with Niki and Chris silently following behind. They broke off at the Phoenix Hawk’s berth, the two women needing to go to a different section to pick up the pod. With a hug from Tanya and a wave goodbye, John and Niki made their way on board the ship.

“What just happened, Sir?” Niki asked once they were inside. She was holding onto his arm again and didn’t seem to want to let go.

“Honestly, Niki, I have no idea. That seemed like an awful fast response to help her out.” He replied.

“No… I mean… Nevermind.” She said, sounding dejected.

“What?”

“Yesterday, I was a debtor, at the mercy of gangs and nearly starving. Today… I was saved, had a shopping spree with more credits than I would ever have considered spending on myself, and then ended up at a party. Now, I am clinging onto my Master’s shirt, and I don’t know how to feel.” 

“I think I understand a bit of what you mean. I am a bit overwhelmed myself with all that has happened in the last twenty-four hours. I haven’t been able to process it yet. Let’s just go to bed and worry about it tomorrow.” He told her, petting her head again. 

“Yes, Sir.”

John took her down to the cargo bay to collect her clothing, then showed her where the galley and bathroom were. He then showed her to one of the cabins beside his room and bid her goodnight. He went back to his room, and after a quick shower, he lay down in his bed and ran through the events of the day in his mind.

Holy crap! I need to talk to someone outside this little circle of people I have found myself in, because this is crazy. One, I have somehow found myself with a sla- IDS, or whatever they want to call it here. I honestly should start calling it by its proper terminology. Two, I seemed to have pissed off a gang. I wouldn’t change anything, but that won’t be healthy for me in the long run.

Three, I owe Katrina a favour for helping Niki out. Well, helping Niki was a byproduct of her helping me clean up the mess after I killed that guy. I have a feeling she will expect me to pull some miracle out of my ass the next time we are hunting pirates. Four, I seem to have made friends with the three dwarves and an Elf. I have no idea why they want me in their inner circle; it’s a bit disconcerting. In fact, I seem to get along with everyone I have talked to so far fairly quickly. I never had this much charisma before coming to DEN, but it seems excessive even for here. 

Greg seems to be pretty cool, though he is a bit of an ass with his sisters. I can tell he does love them, in his own way. Chris seems obsessed with work, though she is pretty cool, too. Tanya, damn, she’s a bit of a nympho. I have no idea why she is this into me. Saving her sister might be a legitimate reason, but before that, I just put my ship between her brothers ship and the pirates. I wasn’t in any real danger at that point. 

Ash is well. She is bloody gorgeous. She could have been a model back on Earth easily, well, she is a bit short to be a model, but the point stands. Now that she isn’t embarrassing herself in front of me, she has this fun, playful attitude, with a bit of sarcasm mixed in. Niki is just as beautiful and seems kind and sweet. I am pissed at what happened to her, getting saddled with her parents’ debt after they died. Kat better be able to fix this somehow; otherwise, she will be legally indebted to me for the next twenty years as she pays me back. 

Was that all that happened today? No, hell, how could I forget Tim! Yet another powerful being is monitoring a world I am visiting. He didn’t say he was a god, but worked for one, and monitored multiple worlds for that goddess. What did he say, something about a note left on the ship’s computer?

John reached to the side table beside his bed and picked up the tablet that was sitting on it. He wasn’t computer savvy, but right on the main screen was a file that said Isekai.txt. He opened it and low and behold, a message was written there, not for him, but for the man he replaced.

Hello Nick from Earth,

Welcome to your new life. I’ve provided you with a healthy body, a ship, and enough funds to get you started. I’ve also enhanced your body with a bunch of custom implants that are available in this universe, so you should be prepared for any situation. Some were quite interesting, so I hope you enjoy them.

As for what you need to do, right now, I need you to grow in power and influence. Something is rotting in this universe, and I need someone to be able to take care of it for me. That said, you still have the choice not to do this; I won’t force it on you. I have other pieces on the board, so to speak. I am not, how do you humans put it, ‘Putting all my eggs in one basket’. If the time comes and I do need you, I will find you and see where you stand. Rest assured, though, it will be many years from now.

That about sums it up. Get stronger and be prepared. If you do well, I might have further jobs for you in the future, hopefully with a clearer goal.

P.S. Oh, and in case you were wondering, I didn’t body snatch you. You died on Earth when a Boeing aircraft tire fell off the plane and smashed into your apartment. The pilots landed safely, though, and there were no further casualties.

John read through it again, then closed it. Sure enough, it disappeared from the screen.

“So, this random goddess wanted the original person to get stronger and gain influence to defeat some rot in this universe.” He said to himself. “Why? Can they not make the changes they want themselves? I guess that will have to be a question for Tim the next time I see him.”

He put the pad down. There wasn’t much he could come up with from the note. It wasn’t for him anyway, but the other guy. He supposed he could figure out how to gain power and influence here, but did he really want to? He was quite enjoying himself as things were.

“Death is inevitable in these worlds”

Alec’s words came unbidden yet again to him. 

God damnit. 

He would gain power and influence somehow; it might be the only way he would be able to protect his new friends from whatever the coming shit storm was going to be.

*Beep, Beep*

John looked at the incoming message from his Link. It was from Ash.

A – [Take responsibility and give her what she wants]

“What the? What does this mean?” He said. He was about to message her back when his door opened.

Niki walked into the room, wearing a set of white lacy lingerie. It hugged her curves perfectly, emphasising her large breasts and plump ass. John could feel his loins stirring immediately.

“M-Master. I’m here to do my job.” She said, looking down at the floor.

“Huh? Niki, what are you saying? What job? Why are you wearing… that?” John asked her. 

She looked up at him, her pale blue eyes looking almost ethereal in the dim lighting. “I am not skilled at anything, but you still saved me, gave me a chance at a new life. I want to be here at your side and help you with your needs.”

“Ahh, what needs are those?” He asked, knowing damn well where she was going with this.

“Ash explained to me how men have needs. She got me some drugs to help make the first time easier. So please, I can’t do anything else, let me do this for you. I don’t want you to abandon me!” She said her voice was breaking up near the end as she started to cry.

Damn you, Ash. I’m going to strangle you next time I see you.

“Niki, stop. Come here.” John said, standing up from the bed. He embraced her in a hug and held her tightly. He realised too late that he was naked.

Fuck, I am hard as a rock too… I didn’t think this through.

“Look at me,” He said, looking down at her. “I won’t force myself on you, okay? I do have ‘needs’, but I can control them. I don’t want you to force yourself to take care of my ‘needs’ if it isn’t something you want as well. I won’t have sex with you, not like this.” He said, fumbling through a reply.

God, that sounded awkward.

“Am I not pretty enough for you, Master?” She said, her tears openly falling down her cheeks.

“No, that-“

“Ash is gorgeous, I know I don’t hold a candle to her.”

“I’m not-“

“Tanya is so confident and fit. Is that what you are into? I can train and get in firmer shape for you, Master.”

“I ahh, what-“

“Is it my boobs? Are they too big for you, Master? I’m told some men find them a turn off.”

“Then why won’t you have sex with me? Why am I not good enough? I can take care of you, Master, just let me be of use to you!” 

What in the hell did Ash put in her head?

“Niki, I find you very attractive. I mean, look.” He said, pulling away from her and pointing downwards. “I am really hard, but we barely know each other, and I am in a position of power over you. I don’t want to take advantage of you, okay?”

“That’s a penis? It’s so big.” She said, kneeling in front of him.

“Niki, NO!” He shouted, causing her to jump back to her feet.

“M-Master?” She said, looking terrified.

“Stand still.” He said, then walked over to his dresser and pulled out a pair of the track pants he purchased. He put them on and turned back to her. “Niki, you are not listening to me. I didn’t buy out your IDS contract for you to be some sort of sex slave for me. I bought it because I was worried about you and wanted to see you have a better life.”

“Master, I was looking at living my life on the streets, always needing to be on guard, needing to steal to survive. You rescued me from that fate. I want to be of use to you, and I have no skills. I’m not trained to be a mercenary; I have no experience in the outside world other than some odd jobs. I have no use, so please let me deal with this. I need to show you I can be of some use to you!” She said, still crying, but her voice increasing in intensity.

She isn’t letting up. Who is the master here? Hmm…use to me? Fine, I have an idea.

“Very well, Niki. We are not going to have sex tonight, but I do have a use for you.” He said, then lay down on the bed. “Come lie beside me, I feel like cuddling, and you will be my cuddle buddy tonight while we sleep. Understood.”

That should be a good middle ground. I am too damn tired to deal with this right now. We will have a proper discussion in the morning.

“Master?” She said, now looking confused. Her eyes were red, and her tears had ruined the light makeup she had on. Still, she was a beautiful woman.

“I said we are going to cuddle. No sex, no playing with my penis. Not tonight anyway. I want to cuddle with my little Neko tonight, and tomorrow we are going to have a long talk. Okay?” He said, lifting the blanket up for her to join him. If it wasn’t for the fact that Tanya drained him earlier, he might have thought with Little John and taken her up on the offer of taking care of his needs. As it stood, he wasn’t sure if he would have the willpower to deny her if she kept pushing. 

“Yes, Sir.” She said, then crawled into bed in the little spoon position. 

He shut the lights off and draped his arm over her body, his hand accidentally resting on one of her breasts. Before he could move it, she placed her hand over it, holding him in place. He sighed. “Niki, you are not useless; you are just inexperienced, and that is okay. We will get you trained up, and you will become very useful to me in many different ways, not just because of your body.” He paused for a moment before adding, “Niki, I will never abandon you, okay?”

“Yes, Sir.” She said, then pushed her body into his, rubbing his crotch with her butt a little bit. “Sir, is that because of me?”

“Yes, Niki, it is all because of you. Now, for the last time, stop teasing me tonight, or you get to sleep in the hanger instead of the bed.” He replied, then kissed the top of her head. 

She stopped moving. “Eeekk…Yes, Sir.”

There were no further words that night, and soon the pair of them drifted off to sleep. Before he lost consciousness, John had one little sadistic thought go through his mind, which made him smile. 

I am so going to spank that damn Elf for whatever it was she put in Niki’s head today.
