“I have no issues letting you borrow it for this race, but after talking with Tanya about those sponsor contracts, I want nothing to do with being liable for damages you may cause. “That sounds reasonable.” She said, agreeing with his proposal. She continued then in a softer tone, bowing her head to him. “Captain, I want to thank you for healing me and providing me this opportunity to race again. When I slammed into the side of the station, I expected that, in the best-case scenario, I would have had to return home and get my family to bail me out. You don’t even know me, and you’re giving me a chance to stay on my own two feet instead. So again, thank you.”

“You are welcome. Just do your best, okay?” He said, smiling back at her. Tanya and Serena went and sat down in the rear of the cockpit while he brought the ship into the station, the pair chatting softly to themselves, leaving John to his thoughts.
