After the incident, the group moved to an adjacent classroom, away from the two students bodies who were…delt with. John had the pink haired girl carry Ishii’s medical bag while he helped the other boy who was still a little distraught over his actions. With Saeko in the lead, they found no further zombies in their way.
John really wanted to make a bee-line for his truck and get out of the area, but the brunette girl was in no condition to move quickly and frankly, he wasn’t either. The walk across the huge school, the fighting and the stress of the situation took a lot out of him and he needed a few moments himself as well.
They barricaded themselves into the classroom, then John told them all to rest for a few minutes. He slumped down on the teachers chair and leaned back and closed his eyes.
At first I thought accepting this new chance at life was a good idea, but now I am not so sure.
He knew he could hit that DEN Return skill anytime and be safe, but he had no idea how to activate it. Also didn’t that Alec guy say something about stats? Also showed him a menu, but he didn’t remember how to activate it. His brain was a bit foggy on the subject. His kids often joked about him having ‘Some-Timers’ due to him slowly losing his short term memory. He always laughed at it, though the thought did terrify him.
Though if I could forget this day, I probably would be better off.
“Umm…thank you for helping us Sensei.” a female voice said beside him. He opened his eyes and looked over to her. The brunette girl was beside him, head looking down, her striking red eyes on the floor. She was also wearing a soiled school uniform, with several tears in the skirt and blouse. She was about average height, but still a foot shorter than him. Her breasts were large as well, easily a DD if not E cups, and very perky. She was very attractive and looked very physically fit and had a body that many women spent hours in the gym trying to reproduce.
What is she thanking me for? and what is it with all these Japanese girls and having huge breasts? I thought most of them were A and B cups? And why do I care, she is still in school…well not anymore since this is a zombie apocalypse…Damn it.
“You’re welcome. I am John Wayne, the new English teacher here…well I was. Not sure what is going to happen now. Who are you and your friends?” He chose not to ask what she was thanking him for and just accepted it. She wouldn’t have thanked him for nothing, and if he asked what for, it might disturb her already fragile personality. Losing two close friends back to back right in front of you could change anybody.
“I am…my name is Rei Miyamoto Sensei, a second year student here, though I was held back. I am 18. She is Saya Takagi, and he is Kohta Hirano.”
Both the other students looked his way and nodded, saying Sensei together.
Saya was another looker, her long pink hair done up in twin tails, orange eyes behind a set of glasses gave her a kind of sexy librarian vibe. She was short, not much more than five feet tall, but she also had a huge chest, easily a F cup. While not as large as Shizuka’s, her short height and small frame emphasized her breasts even more. The perfect short-stack.
I’m doing it again damn it, down boy!
Kohta was a short, chubby kid with glasses, probably was picked on a lot if his memories of school were anything to go by, though Saya seemed to be sticking close to him. The fact that he made an improvised firearm out of a nail gun impressed John though. That kind of thinking would save their lives in the future he was sure.
The rest of his group introduced themselves, though they already all knew Shizuka, as she was well known in the school. Afterwards, he let them know his plan of getting out of the school and making for somewhere outside the city to wait out the zombies in relative safety, gathering whatever survivors they could.
“Can we get to our families and bring them as well?” Rei asked, an anxious look on her face.
“I won’t make any promises but we can try. Where are they?” John replied. He was slowly coming up with a plan to evacuate this group, but if he could rescue families then he would. His family was the most important thing in his life before coming here and he would support looking for everyone’s family if it didn’t get them killed in the process.
“My father is a detective with the police, and my mother is a retired police officer. We live just across the Onbetsu bridge near Takashi’s-” She spoke, then fell to her knees and started to break down and cry again thinking of her friend.
They must have been close. Maybe her boyfriend or something.
John moved down beside her and started to rub her back, mumbling ‘It’s okay’ and ‘let it out’ quietly. Rei clutched his shirt, not caring about the ichor on it and sobbed into his chest. She reminded him of his daughters when they lost their mother a few years ago.
After a few minutes, she settled down and stopped sobbing, but didn’t let go of the semi hug they were having. John looked up at the other students and asked “Who else has family nearby?”
“Mine are overseas, they don’t come home very often.” Kohta said, the boy shrugging like it didn’t matter much to him.
“My father is at a dojo overseas Sensei, no need to worry about finding him. He will be fine.” Saeko said, also seeming unconcerned about her father.
“My parents are…gone, and I already know Rika is safe for now. She will try and find us when she can.” Shizuka said, watching the interaction John was having with Rei with interest. Maybe she was close to Rei as well?
“Well…my parents have an estate across the Onbetsu bridge. They probably already have started moving people there. Their…they have armed guards so they should be fairly safe.”
“An estate? Armed guards? Who are your parents Saya-San?” Kohta asked her, seemingly confused.
Saya looked a little exasperated at him. “You have been stalking me for years and you didn’t know who my father was? What kind of pervert are you?”
“I did not stalk you! I just really like you and wanted to go out.”
“Idiot! I already told you no several times. I am not interested.” She snapped at him. Looking back at John, she continued. “You are new in town Sensei so you probably don’t know Japanese politics yet, but my family owns many major corporations and my father is the leader of the opposition to the seating government. It allows my family some liberties for protection.”
“I see.” As a red blooded American, he saw no issues with people carrying firearms, but he could understand why the others here would be surprised. Japan had some pretty strict rules on firearms. If only this school had guns, they could have been safe from a zombie apocalypse. (A/N – 😛 Don’t bring guns to school kids, defense against a zombie apocalypse is not a valid reason in the court system…probably).
“Well, then maybe we should go there and use it as a base to rescue Rei’s mother and father. Depending on how things are going, we can look at moving out of the city afterwards with the whole group.”
Rei looked up at him, finally releasing his chest. “You mean it?”
“Sure. Maybe they are holed up with other survivors as well, and we can work at rescuing as many as we can.” John said.
This is what they do in those Zombie shows right? If this world is based off some show, then its probably the correct course of action.
A small part of John just wanted to drop everything and leave the city, maybe find an old castle or some sort of fortification and hole up, but he couldn’t just not help other people. As long as they wanted help, he would try to do it.
God help them though if they tried to kill him though. Actually, the gods were helping him, so they are shit out of luck.
After a few more minutes, they all geared up again. John tossed Rei’s broom handle to the side and gave her a bokken. She was using the handle like a spear, which apparently her mother trained her how to use, but it was one strike away from becoming a bent piece of trash, which would end up getting her killed.
Everyone but Shizuka had a weapon now, though she and Saya were both pulling the suitcases of medical supplies. Saya admitted she hadn’t used the bat yet, it was actually Takashi’s, and that she wouldn’t be very good with a weapon. John nodded, and put them along with Kohta in the center of their formation, with Saeko in the rear and Rei beside him up front. Everyone looked as ready as they were going to be.
They made their way to a side exit of the school, dispatching several small groups of zombies along the way. They would have taken the main entrance but there was a veritable hoard of zombies in the lobby, so with caution being the better part of valour, they moved away from there to another exit.
The parking lot had about a dozen zombies visible, but they knew there were more out of sight around the front of the building when they looked out the windows from the second floor earlier. His truck was parked at the far side, near where the schools mini-bus was parked. He laughed for a moment at the memories of how his previous self managed to get a older F-250 approved to be shipped into Japan. It wasn’t a fuel guzzling V8 diesel but a converted diesel-electric hybrid he won in a contest. The big, neon green truck was a promo vehicle for some company in the states, and since the laws in Japan were vague on modifications like this, they allowed his beast to come with him.
“Okay, try to be as quiet as you can, we are just going to slowly walk up to the zombies and kill them. We are going for that green truck. If I for whatever reason can’t get there, my keys are in my right front pocket.”
They all nodded at him, and Saya smiled at him and gave him a thumbs up for some reason.
They made their way slowly across the lot. John and Rei took down several zombies without the others noticing when Shizuka tripped over something and fell on her face.
“Waah!”
“Ahhh!” She said rubbing her head. “What else could go wrong today?”
GRAAAAAAHHH!
“Crap, get up. We need to go.” John said lunging at another zombie. The movement was too fast though and his body betrayed him, causing him to fall over top of Shizuka as she was trying to get up. They ended up face to face with each other in a rather precarious missionary position, though sex was the last thing on his mind at the moment.
“Argh! My back!” he grunted out, still trying to be quiet even though he was in pain.
“We have you covered Sensei.” Saeko said, thrusting her bokken into the head of the zombie John was trying to hit.
Kohta was standing beside him, coving him as well with his nail gun, but held off firing due to the noise it made.
John rolled off Shizuka. Saya offered her a hand up, then him. He nodded in thanks.
“AWW! This is Prada!”
John looked over at Shizuka, her dress was torn up one side to her waist, exposing her leg and purple underwear.
“Brand named clothing or your life? Which do you value?” Saeko said, finishing off another zombie.
“Grrr! Both!”
“C’mon, lets move, more are coming.”
John put an arm over Shizuka’s shoulder and she helped him over to the truck. The immediate area was cleared of the zombies by Saeko and Rei. The medical bags and extra bokken were loaded into the bed of the truck and they piled into the vehicle, the full cab with two bench seats letting the six of them ride in relative comfort. His back was killing him so he waited a minute for the pain to die down before driving.
Shizuka was beside him in the front, with Kohta in the shotgun seat with his nail gun. Saya was in the middle seat in the back, with Rei and Saeko on either side of her.
“Shizuka-San, do you have any pain killers or muscle relaxants in that little backpack of yours? My back is killing me.”
“Yes, just a moment.”
“Are you okay Sensei?” Saeko asked from behind him.
“Yeah…just old injuries catching up to me. I’ll be fine when we find somewhere to rest for a bit.” There was no way they would believe he was actually just an old man in this body.
“Oh…my place is not too far from here. We can go there if you want?” Shizuka said, handing him something that looked like Naproxen.
“Thank you. That might not be a bad idea.” It was about lunch time and he felt like he was done in for the day. He never really cursed too much about getting old, thinking of it more as a badge of honour and experience, but today really put it in perspective that he was out of shape and had very little stamina left.
John swallowed the pills then realized he had nothing to drink with them. A quick grimace on his face he started the vehicle in battery mode. The truck could run silently for about thirty minutes on batteries before he needed to fire up the little generator that was put into it to replace the motor. He was very thankful for having such an handy vehicle for this situation. He started to pull out.
“WAIT! WAIT!” A voice was heard yelling outside.
GRAAAAAAHH!
“What fucking idiot yells like that when there are frigging monsters roaming around.” John said. Shizuka blushed hard beside him for some reason.
“Yeah, one wonders those things” Saya said in the back.
“Oh it’s…Shidou…that asshole.” Rei said.
John looked towards the school. A teacher and a bunch of students were running towards them, with a trail of zombies following them. One kid fell beside the teacher, and instead of helping him up, he said something to the student, laughed, then continued on his way, the zombies falling on the poor kid.
“HELP ME! AHHHH!”
“He is…a bad man.” Saeko added.
Yep. An asshole, he had time to help.
“Please let us in!” one of the kids, a blonde boy with spiky hair said to him, hands on the open window of his truck. There were seven kids, two boys and five girls, along with the teacher who was still making his way to them. John didn’t count the bait the teacher left behind.
“Get on the back. We don’t have room inside here.”
“But-“
“GET IN THE BACK AND SIT DOWN!” John roared. The punky looking kid shut up and climbed on the back, the rest of the students did as well, thanking him as they moved passed.
The man, Shidou, approached the window.
“Thank you Mr. Wayne. You are the leader here?”
“Yes I am. Sorry I am new here, you are?”
“Koichi Shido, a fellow teacher. I am very glad to meet you here Mr. Wayne. We teachers need to support our students in these trying times.”
“Oh? And what was your plan running out here with eight kids in tow?”
“Why we saw your group running, and thought to join you. I assumed you had a key to the bus. To my surprise you had this…truck instead.”
“So you endangered everyone’s lives on the off chance of hitching a ride on a bus? Killing a student in the process?” John gestured to the zombies who just finished off the student the man left for dead.
“That was…an unfortunate accident.”
“Right. Well Mr. Shido, you can fuck right off where you came from, cause you had time to help your student, instead you mocked him, then left him for dead, sauntering over to my truck. Good luck in your next life.”
With that John hit the accelerator and pulled out, leaving that piece of trash behind.
