“I apologize for that, Miss Maximoff. I had not realized that they were tailing me. Had I known, I would not have brought such trouble to your store” Adam said, bowing his head, feeling bad for the event that had just taken place.

The fact that the heroes had caused so many problems for Wanda, and had even harmed her son (even if it was a little bit) angered the man to no end. As while he was a villain, he also knew that Wanda was incredibly powerful, and had the means to give both heroes and villains access to new knowledge and power that they couldn’t previously even comprehend.

And the heroes could have ruined that.

“You don’t need to apologize, Adam. It’s the arrogant little brats that caused the problem, not you” Wanda responded, waving off his apology as he didn’t need to give it, the heroes did. Whether or not they would actually apologize to her was an entire different matter though.

“Well I shall apologize either way. What they did was disgraceful, and was done at the wrong time. They are heroes, and yet they did such an ignorant thing” Adam responded, as she just chuckled, finding it funny that the villains of this world were easier to work with than the heroes.

That was the way it seemed to work though. Villains knew when not to push their luck, they did not pry into your business, and did not come after you unless you did something against them. Whereas heroes will continuously come after you the second they even find a tiny bit of evidence of you doing something wrong.

That was one of the big reasons why Wanda wanted to be more neutral, and why she didn’t align herself with heroes anymore, as their arrogance and ignorance was…incredibly irritating.

Their no kill rule was also incredibly foolish and only served to make the situations worse, especially with a being like Joker, who deserved death. Even to her standards, which was saying a lot. He was one of the few beings that she would kill the second she ever ran across him.

That much was guaranteed.

“Thank you for the apology then. Have you found all of your books, or were you not able to do so due to the heroes?” Wanda asked, as the man sighed.

“No, I think I will return to my browsing. Ah, and I apologize child, that man has always been one of the worst of that little League of theirs” Adam said, giving Naruto a small apology before returning to his browsing. He had been looking at magical books and the ones on history before the rude interruption from the heroes.

Seeing that he was going back to what he was doing before, Wanda smiled, pleased that he wasn’t leaving. Turning back to Naruto, she looked over the hand that Captain Atom had gripped, finding that it was healed.

“Are you alright, honey?” Wanda asked, looking him over making sure he was not injured anywhere else beyond the arm. She didn’t want her son injured in any way, shape, or form.

“I am. I’ve been beat up a lot worse than that! But I gotta say, that man was rude! And his grip was crazy strong too” Narut responded, rubbing his arm slightly to get rid of the dull ache that was left over from the grip the man had on it.

He had never felt that strong of a grip before, not from Sasuke, Sakura, Jiraiya, not even from Tsunade herself, who had some of the strongest physical strength in the elemental nations.

None of them even compared to what he felt from Captain Atom, proving just how powerful the heroes can be, at least physically.

“He was rude, but you don’t need to worry about him anymore. Mama’s taken care of the problem. And he might be strong, but he won’t be stronger than you for long, hon. As long as you continue to do your training with your sister, I am certain you will far outclass him in time” Wanda said, confident in her son’s growth.

Once he got his skills from the Tensura universe, she was absolutely certain that he would be stronger than Captain Atom. And once he trained, he could overcome even the likes of Superman. It was only a matter of time and training.

“Do you think they’ll come back in a week?” Naruto asked, wondering if they would come back to try and attack Wanda, or something else.

“I am sure they will. But considering the showing of power I had given them, I doubt they will try anything. The magic users of their team will warn them against it, I am sure Doctor Fate and Constantine are both going to be screaming at the fools for this later” Wanda responded, as she had already told her children all about the specific magic users of this world, like Doctor Fate, Zatanna, Zatara, and of course Constantine.

They hadn’t met any of them, but they were very interested in doing so.

“Well hopefully they aren’t stupid and cause more problems” Naruto responded. Wanda snorted, knowing the heroes were awful at not causing problems, afterall, most of the villains were born because of their ignorance and foolish decisions.

“That’s a difficult thing to ask, Naruto. Heroes aren’t exactly the brightest” Wanda said, as the boy laughed with her, remembering some of the stories she told him about heroes in the Marvel universe, which included a LOT of embarrassing moments.

Mostly about Spiderman. But he was an easy target so it was hard not. Fate seemed to REALLY dislike him for some reason, the poor thing.

She’d help him out if he ever came into the shop.

“Do you think the heroes will at least come back to shop? I wanna meet Green Arrow!” Naruto asked, as she looked at him.

“Green Arrow? Is he your favorite hero?” Wanda asked, surprised with the hero of choice. Oliver wasn’t exactly the most popular.

“Yep! After watching that Arrow show I really like the guy, even if it’s not the same in this universe, I still wanna meet him eventually” Naruto responded with a nod.

“Hmm, maybe we’ll have to meet that Oliver at some point then, as I have been meaning to take a trip to the Arrowverse” Wanda said with a hum, wanting to visit the Arrowverse, which was actually a separate multiverse in the DC “Omniverse”. Unlike what people thought, DC and Marvel had entire Omniverses to themselves.

As they had several different multiverses. Like how Marvel had the mainline multiverse, and the “Marvel Cinematic Multiverse” where all the movies from the MCU took place in. And how DC had the mainline DC Comics multiverse, the DCU, the DCEU, and the Arrowverse.

Yeah they were a bit more complicated due to the way their multiverses changed and warped, and the series constantly being cancelled and all that bullshit.

“Yeah that would be awesome!” Naruto exclaimed, excited at the prospect. He wanted to travel around more with his Mama, and that would be his chance. But, it would have to come later, as for now she had to help Adam check out.

Walking up to the counter, Black Adam placed a stack of 15 books onto the counter. Looking them over, she found that most of them were magical in nature, but there were also a few martial arts books, and a couple of historical books. And there was even a romance book tucked in there, causing her to smirk at the man who looked away as he realized she noticed it.

“No need to be embarrassed Adam, you’d be surprised how many men come in here and buy romance books. And how many women come in here and buy comics and other books you’d expect a guy to like” Wanda said with a chuckle, as she rang up all the books, finding the total to be a bit over 200 dollars.

After the man gave her cash for the order, she placed it all in a bag, before asking the next question.

“Is there anything else you need? I have pastries here, as well as drinks that you can take to go” Wanda asked, as the man shook his head.

“I’m afraid I will have to decline the offer this time, Miss Maximoff. But next time I think I’ll be trying your tea. I do hope you have an excellent rest of your day” Adam said, as he began to walk off rapidly, probably to tell the rest of the Light about the incident with the League.

Watching him walk off, Wanda chuckled, only one thought on her mind.

‘Who knew villains would be easier to work with than heroes’
