Wanda stared forwards, her eyes wide in genuine rare shock. She had not known that this was going to happen, she rarely every utilized her ability in such a manner, and preferred to be shocked and surprised by things. It would be boring to know everything that was going to happen before it happened.

It would take the fun out of life. And what was life without fun? Life would be meaningless without enjoyment and fun in it. It’d be the same dull and boring nonsense every single day, and Wanda didn’t want to live like that. She wanted to enjoy her life until the time she eventually retired in many many years. And she wanted to enjoy it to it’s fullest.

So she never used it, never saw the future before it happened. Allowing herself to be shocked by the future and what it holds.

And in this case, she was certainly shocked. Staring forwards at her counterpart from Earth 616. She could tell that she was powerful and full of incredible potential, but she was younger. Far younger than her.

And that meant that she would make mistakes that nobody could afford to make. She also could tell that the woman before her was only recently receiving her memories about her son, or was going to very soon.

Her mental state was…not exactly the most stable, and it would only take one wrong move for her to fall apart.

And once that happened, things would go downhill. Not just for her, but for the entire Marvel multiverse. The words that even the far older and more powerful Wanda was ailed by, and by her standards, it had happened many years ago.

That was not something Wanda could allow to happen. She could not allow her younger counterpart to make the mistake that would effectively wipe out a species throughout an entire multiverse. She could not allow her to turn into a villain that the entire universe would go after. And she could not allow her to become a monster that would lose her sons thanks to that monstrous and ignorant action.

She could save her from that fate, save her from what is coming.

And she would.

‘She is young…weak. Stopping her could be done easily, with but a thought in my head. But…I don’t want to force this on her, I do not want to warp her mind and harm her to stop her’ Wanda thought, her counterpart staring at her silently in surprise.

“You did not tell me she looked so similar, brother” Wanda of Earth 616 spoke, giving her brother a glare as the man sheepishly looked away, understanding she was not exactly pleased with him.

And his sister was terrifying when she was mad.

‘At least this is before House of M, and before Ultron manipulates her for his own bidding. If I stop him, I can stop the Avengers from disassembling, which will help stop Civil War. That itself won’t really matter, but it can certainly help. At the very least, the entire Avengers force will be there to help solve this if I somehow cannot’ Wanda thought, watching the two bicker.

‘As long as I can get her to find the boys then it should be fine. As they are alive, simply reincarnated. That much should be fine, and I can deal with the annoying worms that might try to stop her in the background. Like that hell lord Mephisto’ Wanda thought, remembering Mephisto and his manipulations.

She couldn’t wait to obliterate him from existence and consume his power for herself. It would be a fitting end, she decided.

“So…you are the counterpart that my brother has spoken to me in length about” Wanda 616 said, the woman looking over Wanda with an analyzing gaze. As if she was trying to see what made her different from her, if she was weaker or stronger.

“I am. And you must be my counterpart from Earth 616. It’s truly nice to meet you” Wanda said with a small smile, looking at her younger counterpart who glanced at Pietro who only looked to the side awkwardly yet again.

The two Wanda’s looked at one another in silence, an awkward atmosphere forming as Pietro glanced between the two of them, wondering if he should try and deescalate the rising tension in the store.

He was also wondering if his sister was about to attack the Bookstore owner, he really hoped not, as from what he could tell, and from what he has heard, the bookstore owner counterpart of his sister, is dramatically stronger, and it genuinely is not even remotely close.

“So, I must ask, what has your brother said about me?” Wanda asked, deciding to get rid of the awkward atmosphere, staring at her counterpart who glanced at her brother with a raised eyebrow. Once again, the man awkwardly looked away, probably because he said something stupid.

“That you were a book freak. And that you have an obsession with them, like you wish to marry them or something of the sort. That you are strangely powerful, and know a lot of things nobody should know. Oh, and that you are weird” Wanda 616 said, inwardly getting revenge on Pietro for something he had done in the past.

Pettiness at its finest.

Wanda blinked at these words, before glancing at Pietro with a small creepy smile on her face, the man paling at the look he was receiving.

“Uh…I’m sorry?” Pietro said, before shrieking as Wanda cast a rather simple spell on him, which turned him into a walking paper cut out. He was completely fine otherwise, and it would be fixed within 10 minutes, but it was still a good little punishment.

Closer to a prank really.

Wanda 616 looked at her brother and couldn’t help the small smile from forming on her face, finding his form to be hilarious, as he tried to shriek and yell but couldn’t, the paper face warping like it had been drawn by a crayon or marker.

It also made her realize that this bookstore owner counterpart of hers was very powerful, to casually warp reality and change her brother like that without her even being able to sense it. Wanda 616 had no idea how strong her own power was, but she was beginning to slowly come into it.

And with that came the lack of control that Wanda would need to help her with. As she had all this chaos magic and everything else, but didn’t know anything about it. As up until this point, she thought she had her hex bolts and some other simple stuff, not literal reality warping through chaos magic and stuff like that.

Her power right now was only a tiny percent of what it would become, with her peak being warping reality in the entire multiverse, changing fundamental laws and aspects of the multiverse itself. Wiping mutants from the multiverse like it was nothing.

That is what she would be capable of.

Wanda of course had far more power than her 616 counterpart, but it didn’t matter. There were still very very few mutants or beings on Earth that could stop her from doing this, and even fewer that would actually try to stop her.

Meaning it was up to Wanda to teach her counterpart her powers, tell her about her sons, and everything else that would be necessary in order to stop the tragedy that would affect her for years.

The House of M and all that follows would not occur on her watch.

“So, I must ask, why are you here, young counterpart of mine?” Wanda asked, looking at her 616 counterpart with a small smile on her face, her warm tea in a mug.

“My brother. He told me that you know things, that you may be able to help me with things that are happening to me. That you have the power to help me control…this” Wanda 616 said, motioning to her form as Wanda stared at her for a few moments, before her small smile widened.

It would seem that Pietro had unknowingly just helped her quite a lot. For that was what she was planning on doing either way, helping her. This was just going to make things a lot easier for her, and allow her to get closer to her counterpart with much more ease than what she expected originally.

With that, Wanda looked at her for a few more moments, before speaking.

“…Yes, I do believe…I can help you”
