[3rd POV]

Sitting in her living room, Wanda ate her breakfast, Raven sitting next to her as they watched the news. The news in question was talking about the most recent Justice League incident involving yet another alien invasion for what had to have been the 100th time in the last year.

“You’d think they would find a better way to defeat the invaders” Raven noted, watching the news in boredom, finding the Justice League to be…well, incompetent.

“Yeah they’re not the brightest when it comes to stuff like this, Raven” Wanda replied with a wry smile, as she glanced at her roommate.

The girl had now been living with her for a total of two days, and had started to work yesterday. She had proven herself to be an excellent worker as she mostly focused on helping man the desk, with Wanda currently being in the process of teaching her how to cook certain foods that they sell, as well as make certain coffees and teas.

“I’ve come to realize that” Raven replied with a small snort as she watched the video of the Flash getting launched through a building upon being hit…somehow. The guy wasn’t really the best at properly utilizing his powers, that’s for sure.

“Well, at least they’re stopping them, even if it is quite obvious that they’ve got no clue what the hell they’re even doing” Wanda said with a deadpan as she watched the League get their asses whooped, only to come back and beat the alien.

Looking at Wanda, Raven couldn’t help but ask “Why haven’t you joined them?”

“Hmm? What do you mean?” Wanda asked with a quirk of her brow.

“I mean you have all of this power, the power to warp reality and use magic, and yet you’re simply a bookstore owner. Why only that? Why not do more with the power you have?” Raven asked, interested in the answer.

“Why does anyone do anything? Because they enjoy it. I enjoy being a bookstore owner, not being a hero or whatever. I’m not a good person Raven, never have been, never will be. I’m practically made to be apathetic to this sort of thing, being an entity of pure and absolute chaos” Wanda replied, not minding the question.

“…I suppose I am the same then” Raven responded after a few moments, as Wanda glanced at her with a raised eyebrow.

“I could do a lot of good with the power I’ve got. But…I don’t really wish to utilize the power that was born from my father. I enjoy reading more than playing the hero, and while I won’t watch as an innocent is harmed…I don’t feel much of anything for them. I suppose that would be because of my fathers influence” Raven continued, as Wanda’s gaze softened.

“Raven, you’re not like this because of your father. It’s not up to you to be a hero and you don’t owe it to anyone. The League are the special cases when it comes to this sort of thing. They sacrifice any chance at true actual happiness in favor of saving and helping others. And while that is well and good, it’s not healthy for a family or a person. It’s okay to not want to do what they do, as there are plenty of people out there that can do what they do, and yet they don’t for similar reasons as you” Wanda replied, placing a hand on Raven’s knee in comfort, something that Raven had noticed, shivering slightly at the warm hand.

“Now, let’s finish up our breakfast and get downstairs for work, okay?” Wanda said, as Raven gave her a small smile and nodded.

Later, as Wanda sat downstairs, she watched as Raven helped customers choose books, while she was contemplating something else. An idea she had been contemplating the last few days, one that would make things a LOT more interesting, and that idea was…

Connecting the Bookstore to more than just this universe.

The idea itself was 100% doable for her, as it would simply take her ripping through the fabric of the multiverse and connecting her bookstore to another multiverse. It was possible thanks to her nature as a Nexus being, as THE nexus being. And it was also possible thanks to the sheer amount of power that she had, the power that was able to destroy entire multiverses, meaning she should be able to also reach others.

It was mostly born out of her remembering some of the stories she remembered in her past life. Like the fanfics where they would have characters from anime like Naruto appear within their shops or restaurants.

The idea itself sounded appealing to her as it could be really interesting to interact with characters from worlds like that. That, and it would give her access to even more forms of magic, magics that could genuinely be helpful to her, and even things that weren’t magical in nature, like learning to utilize other energies like Cursed Energy from JJK or something similar.

If she did go through with this, she wanted to connect the bookstore to Black Clover, Seven Deadly Sins, DxD, TVD, Skyrim, and several others. Mostly magical in nature for now, as they were the ones she was most interested in. Although RWBY would be pretty interesting as well, especially if she could unlock her aura through it.

Doing this would be draining, but should be possible as long as she doesn’t do this in the main universe, but her little sub reality/dimension that she had created. Otherwise she’d risk the anger of the Presence or any of the beings that preside over things like this, and even she couldn’t fight the Presence.

It was more so the safety of doing this that was the problem. As she wasn’t sure what sort of changes this would bring to her dimension, so, she decided she would need to wait until she was certain it wouldn’t accidentally destroy her store or something a hell of a lot worse than that.

Focusing back on the store, she watched as Raven worked with some of the customers, as the door to the shop opened, and she groaned.

“I’m back~!” Lucifer’s voice echoed as Wanda grumbled.

“What, not happy to see me my chaotic pal?” Lucifer teased, as Wanda rolled her eyes. Lucifer’s eyes strayed as he raised an eyebrow upon seeing Raven checking out a couple of the customers, giving them their receipt.

“Trigon’s kid? Interesting choice for an employee. Not afraid dear old dad will come around and try to get his daughter back?” Lucifer asked Wanda as she snorted.

“We both know he wouldn’t be able to do jack shit to me, Lucifer. So, what’re you here for, and don’t tell me it’s for a visit” Wanda replied, as the man fake gasped in indignation.

“I am wounded! I’d love to visit you” Lucifer replied as Wanda just gave him a deadpan, causing the man to pout.

“Fine fine, I need a book on detective work” Lucifer said with a huff, as Wanda raised an eyebrow.

“Oh? So you and that detective on little old Earth 666 are going well?” Wanda asked, remembering that the man had moved to Earth 666 rather recently, similar to his tv show counterpart. He had been interacting with a woman named Chloe Decker quite a lot, a woman that he was undoubtedly becoming more and more enraptured by.

“Why of course. My charm has been working splendidly with the detective. Now, where is the book?” Lucifer asked as Wanda rolled her eyes, knowing that the man could simply summon them, but she suspected he did actually just want to see her.

“Over in the non-fiction section, in the corner” Wanda replied as the man grinned and walked off to get his book, as Raven walked up beside her.

“Who is he?” Raven asked, noticing the man.

“Lucifer Morningstar, the devil” Wanda replied bluntly as Raven looked at her for a few moments before sighing.

“I wish I was surprised, but I’m beginning to realize that I shouldn’t be when it involves you” Raven replied, as Wanda couldn’t contain a small giggle that escaped her.

“What book is he looking for?” Raven asked, noticing the section he was in.

“A detective book. He’s trying to seduce a detective on Earth 666” Wanda replied, the two of them watching him in growing amusement as he was flipping through books, seemingly frustrated with the choices.

“He’s going to fail miserably, isn’t he?” Raven asked with a small twitch of her lips as Wanda glanced at her, before smirking and speaking.

“Oh undoubtedly”

Lucifer is going to become a sort of annoying friend to Wanda and will appear a decent bit.
