Wanda of Earth 616 stared at her counterpart that owned this strange bookstore. She heard her words, and wondered how exactly she would be able to help her. She knew what her brother had said about her, that this counterpart of hers was strong and smart.

But she wondered just how powerful she was. Just how much knowledge she had in that brain of hers.

What made her so special that even her brother was suggesting she come here to learn from her? She knew that this bookstore of hers was not normal, that much she could tell just from a glance. And from what she had casually done to her brohter.

But she couldn’t sense the true might of the woman in front of her, no matter how hard she tried. It was almost like she had no power at all, but that didn’t make sense, because if she was powerless, then her brother would never suggest this sort of thing to her. And she would not have been able to turn him into walking paper.

He would not lead her along like this. He’d never do that to her.

So instead, it meant that the counterpart of hers was hiding it somehow. Blocking her senses and concealing just how powerful she truly was. Only showing what she wanted to be seen.

This just made Wanda of Earth 616 more confident in her decision to ask for help from her counterpart. Inwardly hoping that this woman could truly teach her how to use this power that was becoming such an issue for her.

She had been struggling recently.

Ever since certain…events had gone down, she had begun to a new surge of power beginning to flicker about inside of her body. It was unlike anything she had ever felt before, far beyond what she had previously known, and easily the most powerful sensation she had ever experienced in her entire life.

And this sensation was not from an outside source like she had initially thought. Like from an infinity stone, or from the influence of some cosmic entity that decided it wanted to fuck with her.

No, it had come from within. From her very soul. This…power, it was growing inside of her, rising higher and higher, growing consistently day by day. The amount of power that was inside of her had been barely noticeable in the beginning, but now it was like she had the power of a God.

And it was thanks to this that she realized that her new power was not rising.

It was unlocking. She always had this power, that much she could only assume. But it had been locked before this, evidently enough. But recently thanks to certain events, it was unlocking.

That process of it being unlocked is a problem for her, because she truly was struggling to use it properly.

But now she stood in front of someone who claimed they could help her, and seemed to know exactly what she was talking about. On top of that her own brother was confident in this woman’s words.

She had learnt from Agatha Harkness, she knew that she had something called “Chaos Magic”. But from the older woman’s words, it shouldn’t have risen to become something like what she had. What she had was far beyond any other chaos magic user.

It was a problem.

“You shouldn’t get so absorbed in your thoughts, dear” Wanda said to her younger counterpart, a small smile on her face as she noticed that the 616 Wanda was thinking about what was happening.

She was thinking too much, worrying too much as well. Wanda had full confidence in teaching her counterpart how to master her ability, all the woman needed to do was to trust in her teachings, and consistently work with her.

Well, that and she needed to understand what her power was, and why she had to control her emotions. As her chaos magic – and even Wanda’s – was heavily related to emotion. Should she get too angry, too sad, or whatever, she could unknowable warp reality on a scale she couldn’t even realize until it is too late.

Meditation would need to be a huge part of her training. And perhaps using some techniques from other worlds.

Wanda decided that the occlumency lessons would be a good start. The meditation techniques of that art would be excellent, and occlumency was very good at helping the user learn to control their emotions.

And thanks to Wanda making her own book on the art, the woman in front of her would have an even better form of emotional control techniques.

That and it had the side effect of helping her ward off any mind reading.

“I apologize. It is just…you are quite different than what I was expecting. And you seem so…” Wanda of Earth 616 trailed off, trying to find the right word, which Wanda did.

“Confident?” Wanda finished her sentence as her younger self of another world nodded.

“Confident. But I do not understand why you are so confident. Sure, I can see that you are powerful, with what you just did to my brother. but I do not understand why you seem to be so sure that you can help me control my power” Wanda of Earth 616 said, really not understanding her.

She was just strange in her eyes.

“I am confident because I have gone through what you have gone through. You are my younger counterpart, and that is meant quite literally” Wanda said to Wanda 616, who just looked at her even more confused.

“What do you mean? You are from another universe, are you not?”

“I am, but my universe was very very similar to yours, if not exactly the same. And in my universe, I had a brother, I had a team that I had worked with. I had a husband for a short while, and a number of other things. Including things that you have not yet done, mistakes that you have the chance to avoid” Wanda explained.

Pietro, who had finally lost his paper form, couldn’t help but ask the question his sister was about to ask.

“What sort of mistakes?”

Wanda stared at the man silently, before glancing at her counterpart.

“The sort of mistakes that would haunt you for the rest of your life. Mistakes that would not just change your life, but the lives of an entire species across the entire multiverse. And chief amongst them was the greatest mistake that I had ever made, and you would make if I do not help you” Wanda said, their eyes widening.

“Wh-” “It was words, Wanda. The mistake that you would have made was uttering three simple words” Wanda said, cutting off the younger woman, who stared at her, listening to her next words with wide eyes, horror dawning in them the second she heard them. Pietro had a similar reaction.

“No more mutants”

Hearing the three words, the two horrified expressions began to warp, as they realized what they meant. Why she had said that it would affect an entire species. But it was the realization that it was not just the species in their universe, but in the entire multiverse, that made Wanda of Earth 616 step back, face pale.

“Three words that would have wiped out the entire mutant species in the entire multiverse. Untold amounts of lives lost, and those that remained were powerless. One of the greatest travesties to ever happen in the entire multiverse. The near death of an entire species” Wanda said softly, seeing the horror in their eyes.

She understood their reactions, she understood their terror and disbelief. But she had to tell them, had to make her counterpart understand why she MUST learn from her. Why she needed to stay and train with her consistently.

“I do not want you to make the same mistake that I had, Wanda. I do not want you to live with the horror of ending the lives of a billion billion souls. That is not something you deserve” Wanda said, before continuing.

“Which is why you must train with me, consistently. At least three times a week, more if possible. You need to learn what the power you possess is, what it means, and why it is imperative that you master it. So, Wanda Maximoff of Earth 616, I ask of you…”

“Will you learn from me?” Wanda trailed off, staring at her younger counterpart, who could only silently lock eyes with her, before opening her mouth and replying.

“Yes…please help me. Don’t…don’t allow me to make that mistake”

Hearing her response, Wanda smiled softly, before responding.

“Good…then lets get started immediately”
