Chapter 135: “Loga hunis!”

The fifth button on the line, otherwise known as button WLAS-I was interesting. At first he thought it didn’t do anything, because the specimen in container forty-nine remained asleep. It didn’t move, so he even suspected that he killed it in its sleep, but then he woke it up by pressing XXMALO, and noticed something odd.

The specimen was awake, but it wasn’t banging its three-fingered fist on the glass anymore. It swam around lightly, and it stared through the glass, at Jimmy, as if it was plotting something mischievous. Either that, or the alien was paranoid.

“An IQ booster?” Jimmy suspected, “Looks like it can come in handy, if it actually boosts intelligence. Gonna need to test it out on some dumb Compies when I get the chance to tame a few of them, and get them here.”

Of course, he could try to tap into its brain to try and figure out just what the small specimen was thinking. He could even feel its tiny heartbeat, so it was a possibility, but he’d rather not risk it. He was afraid that if the alien was too smart, he could end up frying his own brain, not to mention he’d spend the entirety of his mana pool too. He didn’t want to use his magic unless he absolutely had to.

Anyway, the sixth button on the line was intuitive, at last. It was labeled as WLAS-O, and it seemed to lower intelligence, equal to how much the prior button raised intelligence. It was parallel, and easy to manipulate, it was useful.

The same specimen stopped plotting, and started banging on the glass again. It was as dumb as he found it, or, as smart as he found it when he stepped in here. Either term would explain the situation perfectly, but either way, the specimen seemed less mischievous, so he didn’t have to bring Compies in here for tests, as those two buttons were indeed intelligence related.

“I have half a mind to jump in a container myself,” He said, “I could use an IQ boost. Sometimes shit gets too complicated. A better brain can sure as hell help me figure out how to charge this stupid gun.”

Jimmy didn’t think about it too much. He had a goal in mind, he wanted to free the human woman that was trapped in container number forty-two. Once he did that, he could do as many experiments as he wanted to throughout the day.

With a single press of a button, he put the alien specimen to sleep. Then, he went ahead and pressed the seventh button, labeled as SST. He got closer to his goal with this one, as he then saw the odd liquid being drained from container forty-nine.

The liquid was drained within two minutes, and then the specimen woke up by itself. It started coughing plenty of water, and tried to get used to breathing air.

Jimmy then figured that the eighth button would open the container, but he wasn’t sure if he should press it. If he did in fact free the alien, and it tried to be violent, he would have to kill it. His plan was to kick it with his steel-toe shoes, and then step on it to give it a quick, easy death, but he felt queasy about it.

“That’s not fair… he wouldn’t have the slightest chance to fight back.” He said, “Let’s hope its skin is poisonous or some shit, at least then our ’battle’ will be equal.”

Jimmy pressed the eighth button, labeled SSZ, and just as he suspected, the container opened. The glass of the container was far more advanced than he had suspected.

The glass had sensors, from the looks of it, because a piece of the glass opened outwards, just like a glass door, and this ’door’ was one-foot tall. Just enough for the alien to slip through. It didn’t have any hinges, nothing of that sort, the glass just knew what to do, as if glass could be programmed. This was the most advanced piece of technology he saw so far, no doubt.

Thankfully, the alien didn’t rush out of its containment unit. It walked slowly, and poked its head out of the small door, just to see where Jimmy was. Thankfully, it could be reasoned with, judging from its cautious approach, so he might not have to kill it.

“Hey there, little guy.” He said, “Do you understand me? Can you speak?”

“Rzmatik loga hunis!” The alien tried to shout, but its voice was mousy. “Loga hunis!”

Its language was alien, no doubt. Jimmy couldn’t understand a thing. Thankfully, despite its yelling, the alien was a lot more scared of Jimmy than he was of it.

Just by walking closer to it, he managed to scare the alien back in its containment unit. It ran all the way back to the other end, and then Jimmy waved its finger at it, telling it to stay there. His experiments were a success so far, and that was all that mattered. He couldn’t afford to let a tiny alien walk around the bunker, as common sense cited that it was locked up for a reason. The reason may be scientific, rather than anything else, but he didn’t want to risk it.

Jimmy went back to the control panel, and pressed the eighth button to close the tiny glass door, then the seventh to fill it back with liquid. It did work, but as his back was turned, he heard the steel door open up behind him.

Without even thinking about it twice, he ran towards the door, and just as he suspected, he saw the tiny alien running away. It has used the opportunity to escape when Jimmy had walked away from the container.

It was a one foot tall alien, so it wasn’t exactly fast. He could catch it quickly, but he didn’t want to leave this room right now.

“I’ll probably be done before he makes it to the other side of the tunnel, hahaha.” He joked with himself, “Gotta free the viking baddie first.”

“I hope the little sucker doesn’t wander off into the cavern. He’ll be somebody’s lunch out there.” He added. “You know what? Let him get stir fried, I don’t give a fuck. He freed up a container for me to use on Compies or some shit like that.”

Jimmy then turned back, and picked another specimen to experiment on. Now that he knew what buttons to push to free specimens, he wasn’t as scared to experiment with the dangerous looking aliens.

There were only two letter-labeled buttons that he hadn’t pressed yet, and he wanted to figure out what they did. He knew how to wake up the large, trapped blonde for one thing, but he also wanted to ask her if she wanted any body modifications before he freed her. It was the least he could offer, so he had to keep experimenting.

He said, “Hopefully, she doesn’t ask me to get her more jacked than she already is.”
