Chapter 177: Jimmy’s Corpse

“Well, this is interesting…” Jimmy mumbled.

In his hands was his own severed head. No amount of context would be enough to explain this scene in detail, and no string of words could properly describe what he was feeling right now, but at the very least, it was interesting.

Jimmy’s former body was now a corpse. It could not be saved, salvaged, or revived. He was looking at his own corpse, and yet the corpse in front of him was hilariously in less pain than he was.

The corpse could not feel pain, it was lifeless, and yet Jimmy’s knees still burned because of yesterday’s tango he had, the one that involved Terrence, the little alien. He was not fully up-to-date with the events that unfolded today.

“So a Field Runner got me?” He asked, as he stared his former, lifeless head in the eye, “Did my death look cool, at least?”

“It was a bloody mess, Jimmy,” Hannah had the urge to smack him behind the head, but she resisted, “Your blood has dried up on my chest. The Field Runner crashed on me so hard that he died on the spot after he killed you. His arms fucking exploded!”

“Well, look at it this way,” He stood up, “If you didn’t have a forcefield protecting you, we would’ve both lost our heads today. You got lucky, but me, on the other hand, well I guess you could say I got lucky too?”

As they spoke, Gutaxun chirped along close by. He was confused, but he was happy. His song was cheerful, but deep, as deep as it would be if a song bird weighed two tons.

Once they walked out of the cavern, the team found Gutaxun laid flat on his stomach with his head near the body bag, and him essentially crying near Jimmy’s corpse. He was mourning, his grunts had been deep like that of a distressed bear’s, or as loud as that of a bear’s who knew that his death was near. Gutaxun was healthy himself, he was alright, but his cries nearly shook the mountain, and everyone had known what he was going through, or why he was mourning.

The acceleration, the happiness Gutaxun felt once saw Jimmy walk towards him was so great, that he nearly killed Jimmy with his snout while they had their reunion! Gutaxun tossed him a few meters backwards, even, because in a way, he wanted to cuddle with his master. If he was a dog, he would’ve licked Jimmy’s face clear out of joy!

Jimmy had to put one of his ribs back in place, and he used what was left of his mana to do so, but he was alright. Gutaxun even more so. He was happy, and still kept chirping in joy ten minutes later, running around Jimmy and the group like an over-excited puppy. He didn’t care how Jimmy was still alive, he was just happy that it was the case.

“What do you wanna do with the body?” Anna interrupted his dead, dissociated stare, “You can’t hold your head forever.”

“How about you go find Gorka?” He answered, “You told me that she can manipulate gravity, stuff like that. My corpse is useless, and burying it wouldn’t make much sense, since any dinosaur could dig it up and upset Gutty. We need to destroy it.”

“We don’t need Gorka,” Nechi chimed in, “I can destroy it, bone and all.”

“Are you sure you can do that?” He asked, and finally looked away from his own severed head, “It won’t mess you up, right? Your feelings, I mean. I don’t want you to feel sad throughout the winter.”

“You’re alive, cousin Jimmy,” She answered, “I’m happier than I will ever be.”

“Yes,” Eni then nodded, and sighed, frustrated over what she was about to say next, “I can’t believe how much I care for your dumb ass. I learned that today, but I think it would be best for all of us if we put this day behind us. If we get rid of your corpse, maybe we’ll also get rid of all the sadness we felt today.”

Jimmy smiled. This was the sweetest thing Eni had ever said to him, and likewise, he felt a great warmth in his heart. This was the sweetest, most loving harem he ever had the pleasure of having.

Likewise, he cared for Anna’s opinion as well. For that matter, he looked at her, smiled, and expected her opinion on the matter.

“I’m not sad,” She said, “You told me all about your plan last night. I knew you were going to die, so this corpse means nothing to me. The man-boy I love is right in front of me, close to kissing his own head, for some reason? Stop being weird and destroy the corpse, please. I want to fuck.”

“Hehe,” He chuckled, “We reached a consensus then. First we get rid of the corpse, and then we fuck.”

“I have to pass on that,” Mika added, faking a nervous laugh, “Jimmy made it clear last night that I’m not his slave.”

One would think that she was being dead serious, but that wasn’t the case. She followed Jimmy’s footsteps, and tried to be sarcastic herself, even though she didn’t fully understand the concept of sarcasm.

To make things worse, she added, “I mean sex does sound good right now, but it would be weird if we all had sex now, right? I mean, Zik is here. I know he’d die to see me naked, but why give him the chance?”

Everyone was confused for a moment. She wasn’t making any sense, but then, something clicked in Jimmy’s head, and he realized what Mika was doing.

“Little Zik!” He exclaimed, “Hahahahahaha!”

Steaming, Zik walked over like an angered general, and said, “Alright, quit that. I came here to pay my respects, not to be mocked. There’s no need to dig into the past.”

The ladies giggled as they realized what was going on. Mika didn’t want to get in Jimmy’s pants, she was just trying to lighten the mood.

Gnegor pulled Zik back, and then he looked at the girls, demanding, “You girls are lucky your mothers aren’t here to hear you. It’s best to be private about your affairs, we old heads don’t need to hear it.”

“Who are you calling old?” Zik protested, but he was pulled away from the scene. The two of them watched from a distance now.

“Let’s get this over with, brother,” Gaark then added, “I’m gonna need Hannah tonight. You probably can’t tell, but she’s very upset.”

“Everyone can tell that she’s upset,” Anna sighed, annoyed, “She saw a lot of messed up shit today. You better treat her well.”

“Oh, he has no other choice,” Hannah sighed, and walked to Gaark, landing a kiss on his cheek, “He’s a good little boy.”

Jimmy looked away to keep himself from laughing, and the others did the same. They wanted to spare some of his dignity.

“Am I the only one here that’s single?” Mika asked herself quietly, “Darn.”

Anyway, with that stimulating, and awfully confusing conversation out of the way, the group was ready to destroy the corpse.

Nechi poured a wave of black clouds towards it, reducing the corpse into nothingness. Flesh, bones, blood, organs, nerves, everything, they were gone within seconds.

Jimmy’s former body was gone for good, and his new body, warm and with a beating heart, was to serve him from this point onwards. Cloning, or preserving DNA was confusing to a first-timer in every way possible, but at the end of the day, the only thing that mattered was life itself. His heart was beating, he was surrounded by most of his loved ones, and this was all he cared about.

“Jesus, what a day,” He sighed, and afterwards it dawned on him, “Oh shit, I have to meet Jurassic Jesus tonight…”
