Chapter 214: Yanking Rope in a Funeral

“Yes…” She shook her head, seemingly frustrated that she had to talk about the pyramids, as if she had talked about them hundreds of times before. “There are three pyramids spread across the jungle. The city folk raided them for its treasures a few decades ago, but I guess that wasn’t enough for them? They’re probably messing with the pyramids again, for whatever damn reason they think makes sense to them! What will they take next? The blocks?”

Jimmy could hardly keep up with what Laylania said. He was still muttering over the fact that pyramids existed in this timeline to begin with! Even in this underground world where dinosaurs seem to evolve faster, or even better than the creatures on the surface world, the existence of pyramids itself sounded premature. He didn’t know what to think of first, but he knew that Anna was surely going to lose her nut once she heard about this!

At last, he said, “This might be a bad time to ask, but do you know who built those pyramids?”

“I don’t,” She shook her head, “Who cares? They’ve only been trouble to us today.”

“Right…” He lowered his voice. “The number three sounds very specific. I mean, why build three pyramids when even one would be enough? I say enough… I don’t have a fucking clue why they built them to begin with, but building three of them sounds symbolic.”

“It doesn’t matter, Jimmy,” She insisted, “Please hurry. We need you to send your brother down here as fast as possible. Float out of here, we’ll be waiting for you, and now if you’ll excuse me, I have five funerals to put together. We’ll bury what’s left of our victims, and you don’t want to be here for that.”

“Alright,” He nodded, “Don’t worry. I won’t let you down.”

Jimmy tried his best to cooperate with the shapeshifters as best as he could. Cooperate was a silly word at this point, he wanted to help them as best as he could, so he hopped on a ’mermaid’ and his friends did the same.

The ride back up to the surface world was weird, and not as erotic as it was before. The shapeshifters were thinking about today’s victims, and the general issue of safety regarding their home, so naturally, they weren’t in the mood for someone to stick their dick in them.

No one was in the mood. Jimmy and Zik had to stroke their dicks for a solid two minutes before they were ready to depart, which was the most awkward thing they ever experienced.

Jacking off while a funeral was being put together was not in their bucket list.

Eni was the luckiest of the bunch, because she just had to kiss Almara on her way up, which was a lot less awkward, and even a bit comforting.

Under such conditions, they slowly made it back to the surface world.

Despite the awkwardness, Jimmy wanted to get back down here as soon as he could. There was a war going on right now, and there were a lot of things to do back at home, in the bunker that he was yet to figure out how to work with, but there was something alluring about the underground world he just left behind. He was definitely curious to explore its best features later on.

For now, he had to deal with the problems at hand. The sad looks that the shapeshifters shared, helped him stay focused.

“Please hurry,” Almara said, “Don’t abandon us, or we might need to look for a new home tonight.”

“Don’t worry,” He nodded at her, “I’ll send some of my best people to help you. We’ll put down every damn dinosaur down there if we have to, but you won’t lose your home.”

The two sides said their goodbyes, and separated. It was time to get busy.

Jimmy was relieved to see that Gutaxun and Rampage were still in one piece. They heeded Jimmy’s command, and waited here for a solid two hours, and it was apparent that no one had bothered them during those two hours.

Their pets were happy to see their masters too. Gutaxun especially! He was chirping in song, and as for Rampage’s song, it sounded as if the Gods were yelling at Zik and his friends, as he was a huge creature, who made sounds fit for his size, but they got the message. Their pets were happy!

After petting them, the team of three climbed on, and then headed home in a rush. They might have five hours in total to fulfill their promises before dusk, so there was no time to waste.

Eni joined Jimmy on the ride back home, on top of Gutaxun’s back, and then they headed towards the rocky mountains.

Despite all the effort that their pet dinosaurs put in, it still took three whole hours to get home. This was no surprise, as although getting through the grasslands was easy, the following climb across the rocky mountains was a lot more difficult, because their pets had to run uphill, where their top speed was significantly stunted.

It took three whole hours, and their pets were quite tired at the end, but this was a sacrifice that Jimmy and his friends had to make today. They were trying to save tens of people, after all, and they were silently thankful that they hadn’t been bothered by anything along the way.

Jimmy then rushed towards the spot where he had ’parked’ the Compy clones, grabbed one, and started riding it towards the home cavern.

On his way there, his mother landed in front of him with her pet QT. He instantly noticed that she was panicking!

“What’s wrong?” He asked, unwilling to waste even a single second.

“I saw a group!” She exclaimed. “At least fifty people! They were coming from the west hills, I’m sure of it!”

“Only fifty?” He repeated, and then asked, “How far away were they?”

“Close to the edge,” She took a deep breath. “It should take them three or four moons to get here.”

“We have plenty of time then, but head up there, and try to figure out if they’re attacking us from other sides, like the one close to where our mountain ends.” He said. “Take Dad with you. I have a feeling they’re using those fifty people as a distraction.”

“Okay,” She said, and hurried home.
