Chapter 178: Jurassic Jesus’ unfinished business
Today has been eventful. To most folks, it was no doubt the most interesting day of their lives. A lot of drama broke out, as almost everyone believed that they’ve lost Jimmy, the crown jewel of their tribe, which at first put half of the grassland’s fighters into depression, and then they saw him being revived, fit as a fiddle, seemingly unaware of his own death!
The mixed emotions everyone got were expected, but at the end of the day, as the sun set over the horizon, the tribesfolk didn’t care how he survived, or essentially revived, they just cared about the fact that the battle was over. Better than over, they protected their home without losing a single man or woman.
The seven treacherous elders had to go, but no one was mourning them, even their families scoffed at their betrayal, and wished they could piss on their dead bodies. Traitors were not treated well in this tribe, so they didn’t even count the death of those seven elders as a casualty, as they weren’t considered members of the tribe anymore.
The sun set with the tribe racking in a stunning victory. That brigade of three-hundred men was used to lure Jimmy out and kill him, sure, but regardless of that fact, the tribe didn’t expect to be attacked any time soon.
Anna and the rest of the QT riders have patrolled the sky all day, and they were sure that no other foreign bodies had stepped foot on the grasslands today. Even if they did, it would take at least two days for enemies to travel from the edge of the grasslands to the rocky mountain, so they were safe, they could relax. Guards were appointed at the cavern entrance just in case, but other than that, the rest of the tribe could relax.
“I hear we’re running out of food,” Jimmy said, as they walked through the common area of the cavern. “Our Salt Hunt was cut short that day, but we still need the salt, Anna. This war gives us a good idea of how important it is to stack up on food for the months to come.”
“No kidding,” She sighed, “I’d rather not hunt some random herbivore right now, so you have a point. We do need salt.”
“Are any of the new riders good enough to fly over the rocky mountains?” He asked, “To pick up where you left off?”
“Gaark is the fastest learner, ironically,” She answered, “And I don’t mean ironically because he used to be stupid, but because he would have to revisit the place he dreaded, and suffered in for five years. I don’t think it’s a good idea to send him.”
“Go with him,” He said, and before she could protest, he then added, “I know you don’t want to leave the other riders unsupervised, but it’s what’s best for them. Leave them without a failnet, and they sure as hell will try everything to not fall. They’ll learn quicker.”
“Hmmm… you’re right.” She went over closer and grabbed his butt cheeks, “Say more smart things, pretty boy. What’s the square root of seven?”
“2.64575131106” He answered, and then smiled, “I used to love math.”
“You did, huh?” She whispered in his ear as they kept walking, “Do you love me more than you used to love math?”
Jimmy had the chance to say something romantic right there, and set the mood for the rest of the night, but he couldn’t help himself, so he cracked a joke.
“Of course I love you more,” He acted offended by the question, “Math didn’t suck my dick. It only made me lose my hair.”
“Of course…” She pulled off, “You’re trying to meet your little ghost boyfriend, aren’t you? Is that why you’re saying stupid shit now? You can meet him tomorrow, he can wait.”
“Oh, Jurassic Jesus doesn’t wait,” He sighed, “I’ll be with you ladies in ten minutes. Go warm up our bed for me.”
“Fine…” She sighed.
Jimmy then walked back out of the cavern, and watched the rising moon. Ten minutes in, he felt an odd presence within the dark canvas of the night, and this was how he knew that one of The Invisible was visiting him, specifically, the one he liked to call Jurassic Jesus. He was not intimidated, he had outgrown his fears already, especially since the same entity seems to care enough to save him from trouble.
“There you are!” Jimmy exclaimed joyfully, “You saved my life today, Jurassic Jesus!”
“You’re welcome,” He answered, “But I’m afraid that you will be alone for a while.”
“What do you mean?” Jimmy asked, concerned, and walked closer, “Where do you possibly have to go?”
“I have unfinished business,” He answered, “So it’s time for me to call in that favour you owe me, Jim. Are you willing to do whatever I ask of you?”
“Do I have a choice?” Jimmy chuckled.
“You do,” He answered, “You can say no, and break my trust forever. You should know that it won’t pan out for you well.”
“No kidding,” Jimmy nodded, “So, what’s the favor? What’s this unfinished business you mentioned?”
“I have unfinished business in the human world, and I can only finish them if I was a human myself.” He answered, “But if I’m to finish what I started, I need a strong body, one that I can depend on. I need to possess your body, or a clone, to be exact.”
Jimmy thought about that for a moment, and he wasn’t against the idea. He saw some possible issues arising from cloning himself, but he could take preventive measures.
But he did have one question, “What will happen with the clone once you’re done with it? We should aim to be humane, because it’s my clone we’re talking about.”
“Oh, I’ll make sure that he lives the rest of his life well, somewhere on the other side of the planet. Harem and all, he’ll have girlfriends to procreate with.” He answered, “But I do need a clone, Jim, that’s the favor I ask of you.”
“Nice,” Jimmy smirked and nodded to the girlfriends part, “Alright then, see me tomorrow morning. I have to decide how I’m going to change my clone’s brain, because if I know myself well, I can predict that he will want what’s mine, or ours. I need to lobotomize him, essentially, but he will still be useful, I promise you that.”
“Alright,” He nodded, and then disappeared in thin air.
