The ride down the tunnel was interesting. It was a long, six-hundred foot drop so it took a while to get to the other side, especially since the shapeshifters swam slowly, in order to avoid shaking off their guests.

Just like as the shapeshifters promised, Jimmy and his friends could in fact breathe underwater if they ’mended’ together with the shapeshifters.

Jimmy and Zik could breathe just fine, as if they had grown a pair of gills! “I don’t have a lot of mana to spare myself, so you better have a good plan in mind.” He said, and finally managed to free himself from her grasp. “My guess is that taming a Fatt-neck will blow my mana out of the water in a snap.”

“Maybe you can just talk to them for now, tell them to leave us alone?” She pitched. “I managed to scare away the last Fatt-neck. I turned into a bird, and screeched until its ears couldn’t handle it anymore.”

“You can turn into a bird… that’s interesting.” He added.

“How?” She stopped walking, and looked at him. “There are thousands of birds down here.”

Laylania was not kidding. After two minutes of walking on dry land, he already saw a few birds flying around in the distance, some small ones were even in the trees close by.

With that said, it was apparent to him that this underground world was ahead in terms of evolution. He hadn’t seen many feathered creatures ever since he transmigrated here, so it was even more amazing when he saw small birds, birds who most likely were not related to dinosaurs, or at least didn’t have them as close relatives in the gene pool, flying around and above the jungle.

It was amazing, and as he got a better look at the world in front of him, he was stunned. The jungle stretched out for hundreds of miles, further than the eye could see! There may even be parts of this underground world that weren’t a jungle at all, and it was possible, on account to how huge this place was!

“This is gonna be fun…” He held his breath.
