Chapter 237: GUNZ

“Weapons?” Zik walked forward, as the crowd roared in union. “You mean those odd sticks around the necks of the shit munchers? Are they any good?”

“Hell yeah,” He smiled, “It should help us mow down a bunch of those hairy motherfuckers.”

“That’s what I like to hear!” He laughed.

Misunderstanding guns as sticks was a common reaction coming from cavemen, he expected it. However, he also knew that there were too many guns for just him and Anna to use, and for that matter, he figured that it was time to teach a bunch of his people how to pull a trigger.

Give a monkey a gun, and everyone around them was in trouble, but he wanted to use that saying to his advantage, and make sure that the enemy was the only one that suffered.

He didn’t know how he was supposed to approach the matter of the guns, as he didn’t want his people to get too close to the enemy. That part of the plan was still under process, under construction, but he figured that it was best to teach them how to use the guns now, rather than leave it at the last minute.

He said, “Anna’s gonna teach you how to use the weapons, but please tell everyone to be careful. One wrong move, and they could end up killing each other.”

Then, he looked at Anna, and said, “Don’t give any of the guns to kids.”

“No shit,” She smiled, and then she started grabbing the guns by the straps, one at a time.

Anna was careful, and paranoid enough to treat this task with absolute caution, and he was aware of it. He wouldn’t want anyone else handling the guns, or teaching people how to handle them.

“We have twenty guns, so we need twenty volunteers.” She said, “The kids can hold the torches, and as for the rest of you, I need you to pay attention to everything that I’m going to teach you. If you have it hard to pay attention, walk away now, because one wrong move could blow your heads off. Jimmy can’t heal exploded heads, so if you think that you can’t handle the guns, you probably can’t.”

Anna was scaring the people straight, perhaps beyond the limit of what Jimmy wanted, but he trusted her gut. Having less trained shooters was infinitely better than having shooters who didn’t know what they were doing. Safety was a priority!

Since the guns were charged, they were rather easy to use, as people would just have to ’pull’ the trigger, or the buttons, without shooting themselves, or their friends in the process. Most of the safety training revolved around not pressing buttons accidentally, as she wanted the volunteers to be aware of where they put their fingers, and the guns.

She didn’t hand anyone a gun until she thoroughly explained how to hold them, and how to shoot them.

Once she explained the process, fifteen people, men and women, walked forward, and expressed their wish to fight.

There were twenty guns in total, and she wanted to save one for Jimmy and herself, which meant that she needed three more volunteers to make it an even twenty. She wanted to train as many shooters as possible, but then again, the other half of the people around her who did not volunteer, were either kids, or weren’t confident enough in their skills to handle guns.

They wanted to help, but they played it safe. She appreciated their honesty, and didn’t hold the matter over their head.

“Works for me,” She said, and then she started training them properly, one person at a time, so she could make sure each and every one of them knew what they were doing.

Jimmy let her be, and focused on his own thing.

The Compy clone finally finished growing in size, for a second time, and stood a stunning fourteen feet, or over four meters tall again! Weighing at nearly two tons, this beast was almost as big as Gutaxun!

Jimmy was aware of just how dangerous a beast like this could be against the enemy, but then again, he was not satisfied. He had only bumped up the Compy clone’s size twice, and based on what he knew about alien technology, three was the limit!

“Please don’t explode… I can’t afford to waste any more time.” He whispered, and pressed the second button on the control panel once more.

He then took a few steps back, as he half-expected for the clone to explode, but thankfully, that did not happen.

The clone was fine, and although the process took five whole minutes to kick in, the clone did start growing again. For the third time in a row!

He didn’t know what size to expect, it was hard to predict, but he just knew that he’d have a bundle of beasts under his command very soon. Beasts that were even bigger than the common apex predators across the grasslands!

With forty Compy clones, and five White-furred Alien Apes under his command, jacked up in size beyond common horrors, he was well aware of what the enemy was to suffer tonight, maybe an hour before sunrise!

“The clones are all gonna die… but they sure as hell won’t be scared.” He said, “Big predators maybe even prefer to die in glory?”

It was hard to rationalize sending forty-five living, breathing creatures to their death, but their options were slim. He had to do something, and he had to use the grand advantages that were offered to him on a silver platter.

Most of the dinosaurs were asleep right now, so he could work peacefully, and didn’t have to worry about the clones running away. He really didn’t want to chase after them right now, especially since he planned to give them the ability to fly as well.

“Flying dinosaurs bite harder, hehe.” He spoke to himself.

As he waited for the Compy clone to grow in size, he kept watching Anna. She was so serious as she taught the volunteers, and rightfully so! She was the best teacher anyone could hope for.

“What a day…” He sighed, “I should be in bed with my girlfriends right now…”
