Chapter 137: You Touch Me When You Think I Can’t See

The words hit Celine making her freeze in shock for a moment.

“But, how could we have gotten locked in?” She queried still not believing there was no way to open the door as she tried to twist the knob several times.

Tristan’s eyes narrowed. This couldn’t be a coincidence…the signal suddenly being down, doors locked.

His eyes flashed with realization as he recalled a certain cunning look in Kaleb’s eyes earlier.

He sighed, massaging his temple…that meddling idiot!

The sound of Celine rattling the door became louder, and he held her wrist to stop her. “You might hurt yourself, the door won’t budge even if you use your strength.”

“But I need to leave now.”

“Don’t worry, this could be happening because of a routine security check, it doesn’t take more than a few minutes. Once the signal is restored I’ll contact IT and they’ll fix this, okay?” He was relieved when she eventually relented, letting go of the knob and returning into the lounge to take her seat.

He sat right next to her but a strange silence had overcome the room now.

Celine felt like she was sitting on pins and needles, occasionally looking down at her phone to see if the signal had returned. Once five minutes passed by she couldn’t take it anymore.

“It’s already been a…” She trailed off when she looked up at him to find his eyes closed.

He was sitting on the sofa, his head rested backwards and eyes closed. She couldn’t tell if he was sleeping or not, though he looked a bit pale, his peacefully relaxed face looked enthralling.

Celine decided against talking for now, maybe she could wait a few more minutes.

She allowed herself rest in her seat, her eyes watching him studiously.

He had thick brows that added to his usual aloofness, with a high nose bridge and thin yet sinfully seductive lips, his skin had a smooth sheen to it and she could still remember how it feels to the touch.

Curious to see if he was really asleep or not, she got off her seat quietly walking towards him then leaned over. His lashes were long, resting darkly over his cheeks. Her hand slowly inched over to lightly swipe a thumb over his cheek, she felt the smooth texture of his skin against her fingertip at the very same time his lips tugged up in a smirk.

She stiffened!

He wasn’t sleeping?

She almost jumped backwards when his eyes fluttered open.

“Do you often touch people when they are asleep?” His voice came out with a deep husk and a guilty look flashed past her crystal blue eyes.

“What are you talking about?” She asked nervously about to return to her seat but he wouldn’t miss this opportunity to see her flustered, he grabbed her hand tugging her back towards him, when she came falling he made space next to him and she landed sitting right next to him, having her beside him was much better than when she was far away.

“You touch me when you think I can’t see or feel it, why is that?” The air around him smelled like a mix of sweet honey and flowers. He didn’t want to make her uncomfortable so he put some distance between them but it still made him feel better having her close.

“I don’t.” She immediately denied it, averting her eyes.

Looking at her, Tristan smiled lightly. He liked how easy it was to make her blush. Seeing the rush of pink on her cheeks, Tristan could already imagine a thousand things he could do to make her blush even harder.

He could tell she was flustered, eager to escape, and the way her eyes darted as she kept away from making eye contact with him made him want to pull her close to him and eliminate all desires of escape from her mind. He didn’t want her to leave even if he hadn’t said so earlier, and this desire to have her near made him think of a thousand things he could do to her that she would willingly submit in his arms.

Like kissing every sensitive part of her he knew would make her moan, teasing her, tasting her in places that would surely awaken her desire… just like that night.

He caught himself short, realizing he was getting carried away.

Tristan forced himself to look away from her beautiful face before he would lose control and cross the line, the fact that they were currently alone, locked In the solitude of this lounge room didn’t help to curb the nasty thoughts in his head.

Tristan got up from his seat and strolled across the spacious room, his mind working against him by conjuring seductive images from the past he couldn’t afford to recall. He stood before the windows gazing out into the open vastness of the city outside.

Celine breathed a small sigh of relief as he got up and put distance between them, his presence close to her was making her heart beat rapidly and she suddenly became aware of the fact that it was just the two of them in here right now, they were locked in…the thought had awakened a strange fluttering in her lower belly, and his deep gaze as he stared at her intently a while ago hadn’t helped to calm her heart down, but as he moved away, she relaxed a bit.

It had been a while and the said routine check hadn’t been fixed yet, Celine was getting tired of quietly waiting to hear the door unlock itself or the signal return but it never happened.

Being in the same room with him kept bringing up…old memories. She remembered the very first time he touched her, his touch had been very warm, gentle. The very first time he undressed her, the wedding dress pooling at her feet like a waterfall and the absolutely enthralled look in his eyes…

She couldn’t do this anymore. This silence and the uncertainty of being here with him was killing her.

She looked over at him and noticed he was unmoving standing there by the windows for so long looking like a monarch overlooking his own kingdom.

She began to approach him with the intention of asking about how much longer it would take for the routine check to be over, but she never expected to trip over the edge of the carpet just before she’d reach him. He turned around sharply at the noise, but she couldn’t stop herself from falling forward in his direction and before she knew it, he’d caught her. Swiftly and precisely, arms wound around her waist and her face just a mere inch away from his own with her nose touching his…
