Chapter 92: There Would Be No Marriage

Tristan had been watching her as she finished every last bite, she had looked satisfied, but his eyes had happened to fall on some particle of food stuck close to her mouth. Without thinking he had gotten up and approached her, she had looked shocked until he wiped it off her lips, then their eyes locked.

She’d gazed up at him with her lovely eyes, and orbs that reminded on of the deep seas and icebergs, those eyes seemed to pierce past his surface deep into his soul.

She was breathtaking, magnetically beautiful, even more beautiful than she had been five years ago and even then, it felt like she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. He stared at her never having enough and in that moment he seemed to forget everything.

All of it dissipated to this, the warmth of her right in front of him, the softness of her lip beneath his touch where his hand had lingered.

Why was he forcing himself to say away from her? He clearly wanted her, even more than he allowed himself to realize, since the moment he’d set eyes on her again he had not been able to keep his mind off her, actually, not once after that night five years ago did his heart discard her.

She was not like the others, she was not like the kind of women he could forget.

If he were to admit the truth to himself right now, he would tell himself that she meant something… something far more deeper than he could comprehend. With her around he hadn’t been able to concentrate on anything else but her, she was like a plague that had invaded his mind and thoughts, spreading her tentacles and wrapping around his whole being, she had captured all his thoughts like a reoccuring nightmare but sweet and lovely like a wonderful dream he wouldn’t want to wake from, her eyes her beautiful blue eyes whenever she glanced at him he would want to pull her close and make her his.

His, he thought. The concept sounded really good, to make her his.

His eyes had trailed all over her lovely face, his knuckles caressing her cheek feeling the softness of her skin beneath his touch. His eyes found her full round lips, and without another thought he’d begun to draw closer, instinct pulled him in, a deep want that couldn’t be quenched, he wanted to taste her again, but that lovely dream seemed to have lasted merely a moment, the sound from the door suddenly interrupted.

’Tristan, I’ve been out shopping on my own, you have to come with…’

Hearing that familiar female voice, Tristan knew exactly who it was but he wasn’t bothered by her presence.

However, Celine’s eyes went wide with awareness as she suddenly roughly pushed him away from her, his brows subconsciously drew together as he felt the cold distance between them.

Erica seemed frozen in spot when she sighted the scene in the room. One couldn’t be certain if she had an idea of what had been going on or not but a smile suddenly split on her face as she rushed to Tristan.

“There you are, I’ve missed you.” She said then wrapped her arms around his waist.

That contact felt cold and bland, it felt wrong, Tristan’s gaze darkened. He caught the shock in Celine’s eyes then a second later that shock seemed to turn into disappointment as she lowered her eyes as if she had no right to even look at him.

“I… I need some things from my office.” She uttered, her gaze avoidant, a clear excuse for her to leave his office.

Sharp reluctance suddenly rose within him. He didn’t want her to leave, but before he could say anything to stop her she quickly walked out of the office, immediately shutting the door behind her.

“What the hell are you doing here?” His voice was tight with anger as he pulled apart her arms hugging him, he stalked angrily and returned to his seat.

“Grandma told me to come here, she said we needed to discuss some things about the wedding as a couple. I’ve been doing wedding shoppings but she insisted you have to come along.” She spoke like someone who truly was taking the whole engagement and wedding situation as a charade, but cleverly she sat purposely on the side on his desk, her dress riding upwards to show an intentional amount of skin, her fair thighs on full display and the slit in her dress seemed to reveal far more.

“I don’t need to have anything to do with that.” He stated coldly. His eyes not once flicking to the exposed flesh before him as if he didn’t even need to put an effort to be able to resists her quiet advances.

Was he not attracted to her even a little bit? Erica thought, a light of disappointment in her eyes.

Unknown to her, the man wasn’t attracted to any woman at all, except for…her, the one woman who plagued his dreams and his reality. It had been five years and all he felt for other women was disgust.

Before Celine, something like this had never happened to him before, he had kept countless women for his own pleasure, only to have sex with them and satisfy his desires, but after Celine the only thing he desired was having her and no one else.

Recalling the look that flashed momentarily in Celine’s eyes when Erica had suddenly rushed forward to hug him, a rush of displeasure filled his chest.

“Don’t ever take the liberty to touch me again Erica, you know that I hate it when my boundaries are crossed.” Ice seemed to lurk within his voice making it even darker as he spoke.

Erica was stunned for a moment when she heard what he just said.

“I…I was just keeping my end of the contract. I have to pretend we’re a couple in front of other people right?”

“I’ll be the one to give the call when it’s time to pretend or not, don’t take things into your own hands.”

A sharp rage suddenly surged up Erica’s chest. “Is it because of that woman, who is she to you anyway?”

She blurted without being able to control herself. She had seen it, Tristan had almost kissed that woman and if she had not walked in on time…

Tristan slowly raised his eyes, a sharp gaze landing on Erica causing her blood to freeze.

“Are you questioning my personal affairs now?” Tristan queried, he suddenly chuckled to himself, there was no mirth in his eyes.

He stood up from his seat, lifted Erica’s hand and stared at the ring on her finger, “Because of this? I could easily get rid of it and there would be no marriage.”
