Chapter 48: Who Is He?

“What?” Celine’s face suddenly went pale, she stiffened in shock making Natalia who was keenly assessing her expression to widen her eyes in surprise as if suddenly confirming what she had just blurted.

Celine couldn’t believe that Natalia could suddenly drop such an accurate guess. She felt her belly knowing it was still flat and the signs of pregnancy were yet to be evident.

“I’m right aren’t I? You are pregnant!” Natalia said with certainty.

This was what Celine was afraid of, it was hard to keep things hidden from Natalia’s extremely observant eyes. Besides, Natalia was incredibly knowledgeable about these things because she could be considered a medical expert as her father was one of the most well known medical directors in Neville, founding J&R clinics.

Natalia would have also become a medical doctor if it weren’t for her frivolous and playful lifestyle, she searched for fun in almost everything she did and rarely took things seriously, she would suddenly make the decision to change career paths as fast as she changed her shoes, but whatever it is she decided to start, she never stopped it until she was perfectly good at it. She had probably been quietly watching and noticing the little things about Celine that had led her to conclude she was pregnant, hence it wasn’t a huge surprise she saw through Celine’s pregnancy.

“Please don’t tell me Ian is the father of that baby.” Natalia said with a hopeful look in her eyes as if the whole world would come to an end if Ian truly was the father of Celine’s child.

She still couldn’t fully believe that Celine was indeed pregnant but since she’d seen Celine again today after a long time since her wedding, she had felt something weird about Celine. It had taken at least the few hours of her picking up hints in Celine’s behavior, sudden change in habits and sudden sensitivities she didn’t have before for Natalia to come to this conclusion.

“It’s not Ian’s.” At Celine’s reply, Natalia let out a long exaggerated sigh of relief however as if she just realized something, her eyes suddenly shot wide open in amazement as she asked.

“Wait a minute…if it’s not Ian then…” Her face was a frozen tableau of shock, every feature stretched in comical disbelief, “You slept with someone??!” Natalia exclaimed loudly.

Celine knew there was no hiding it anymore, and Natalia would stop at nothing until she knew about it all, so she quietly admitted while keeping her head lowered to avoid seeing any possible disappointment in Natalia’s eyes.

“When I ran from the wedding I stumbled into someone’s suite. It was a reckless and stupid decision but…that night I…”

“That night you did what?” There was no decipherable tone in Natalia’s voice as she asked this.

From someone else’s perspective, Celine realized it definitely would appear stupid of her to just sleep with a stranger on the night she ran from her own wedding, and she honestly didn’t know how to explain to someone else that what she’d felt that night wasn’t like anything one would feel towards a stranger.

“I slept with the man who owned the suite. It was supposed to be a one night stand and we were both supposed to forget it ever happened but… I’m pregnant.”

Celine awaited a scolding, surely Natalia would yell at her and ask why she hadn’t been wary of a stranger, why she had been so reckless. She expected an earful, and she did get one but not in the way she thought.

“That…is fucking AWESOME!” Natalia almost jumped up to bounce on her toes in excitement, her eyes brightened up and the intense need for information surged through her.

It was hard to describe how she was feeling exactly right now. For so long, she had never seen her friend do something that strayed from the proper line. She had always been the epic good girl, hearing something this wild from her of course made Natalia beyond excited.

“Who is he? Is he handsome? No, that doesn’t matter, how did you guys do it? Was it exciting? How did he touch you, did you enjoy it?” Natalia threw out multiple questions at once in a single breath.

“That’s too many questions Nat.”

Celine had indeed forgotten who she was talking to, she had expected a scolding from Natalia? Wrong person.

Everytime she would think Natalia might have changed since time had passed and she was older now, she would be proven wrong. If anyone would edge her on about a crazy and wild decision, it would be Natalia and no one else.

“Alright, at least tell me how he seduced you, or did you seduce him?”

Celine’s face immediately reddened when she thought about the scenes from that night.

“That’s TMI, I can’t tell you all that.” Celine’s words smashed her excited inquisitiveness about the details from that night. She had a lot more questions piled up to extract the obscene details, but she knew Celine would never openly tell her those.

“But at least you’re going to tell him you’re carrying his child right?”

Celine went silent for a moment contemplating how to give her answer in a way it wouldn’t be too shocking.

Before Celine could reply, Natalia couldn’t seem to contain her excitement.

“Ugh, I’m so proud of you. You not only humiliated that butt-face Ian by running off at the wedding, but you hooked up with another man that same night. To think all these years I’ve believed you learned absolutely nothing from me, turns out you’ve been taking notes and all my teachings haven’t been going to waste. You, my darling Celine, have done me proud.”

Celine endured Natalia’s theatrics for some time before the latter circled back to her curious questions again.

“Celine, I’m dying to know, who is this man? The man who took your innocence must be some super handsome hunk right?”

Celine lowered her head again, “His name is Tristan.” She said in a low voice before adding, “Tristan Grayson.”

“Tristan Grayson huh? That name sounds incredibly familiar, I must have heard it somewhere but…” Natalia suddenly paused in between her words, wide eyed as a look of realization sunk into her.

“Tristan Grayson? The Tristan Grayson of Grayson Corp?”
