Chapter 175: Asking Him Out?

The whole night passed by in a blur, without a single nightmare to disturb her sleep, while she was encased in the strong arms that kept her warm from the biting cold.

Celine finally stirred, however her movements were restricted by the arms safely wrapped around her, her eyes slowly opened to be met by an image of a broad chest, from which she slowly looked up to meet a handsome face, one that she wouldn’t mind waking up to everyday. A smile slowly curved her lips.

Instinctively, she slowly reached up her hands to touch his face, feeling the smoothness of his skin on her palm, she slowly caressed his face with her thumb while silently gazing at his handsome sleeping face.

However, Tristan suddenly shifted slightly then his eyes opened, happening too fast before Celine could retract her hands from his face, her eyes stared into his own wide and not knowing what to say.

His eyes seemed to be searching her own, the smallest hint of sleepiness still remaining within his green eyes, his gaze turned gentle seeing it was her while his sight landed on her lip, he suddenly leaned towards her slowly, while their faces that was already just a few inches away in the first place got even closer.

Her breath quickened, but she stayed put feeling him coming closer with each passing second, her eyes slowly fluttered close anticipating the feeling of his lips on her own as their noses gently touched.

However, just when his lips was an inch away from her own, a loud knock suddenly sounded on the door making them both freeze in place momentarily, Celine’s eyes swung open to see the frown that had settled on Tristan’s brows, which turned to him looking confused as if suddenly coming back to his senses, then he turned away, removing his arms from around her, he laid gazing upwards while he shut his eyes, keeping silent, but Celine could see the hint of uncertainty in his expression.

The look in his eyes seemed as if he was coming back to his senses while suddenly realizing what he was doing before he’d moved away. Celine slowly reached her hand forward about to touch him wondering why he had that look on his face when the knock interrupted again.

Without another choice Celine got up to open the doors.

“Morning, I hope you had a lovely night!” Antonio was standing by the door beaming at her immediately she opened the door, “And oh, I see you’re still alive. Hey bring those things in.” He said to her before yelling towards his people who were bringing back all the things taken from the room the night before.

Celine almost rolled her eyes, so that was it? They had tortured people with the cold all night for nothing, she thought.

After the people had dropped the things in the room they all hurriedly left,

“So where’s your husband?” Antonio asked peeking into the room.

As Celine turned around she realized he was no longer on the bed, but suddenly emerged from the bathroom,

“With this I presume we’ve passed the third challenge?” Tristan queried aloofly as he strode out of the bathroom.

“Ah, you’ve naturally passed, which is why I returned all your things, enjoy the rest of the day, I won’t disturb you anymore.” Antonio spoke quickly, before leaving in a hurry.

Celine noticed he was probably frightened by Tristan’s presence and his aloof persona, it was something most people would get nervous of whenever they were around him.

“I’ll be leaving the old dwellings for a while, I have some things to take care of at the resort in the city.”

Celine was about to ask Tristan out to have breakfast when he spoke those words, her request was swallowed down her throat, a hint of disappointment rising in her eyes which she quickly pushed back then asked,

“Will you be taking long?”

“No, just for a few hours.” He said then finished buttoning his shirt as he took a jacket and made towards the entrance.

“Tristan.” She quickly called before he walked out making him stop and turn back to look at her in askance, “If you get back before dinner, can we go eat out together?”

Tristan sensed a hint of nervousness from her as she asked this question, a half smile almost forming on his lips seeing how she gazed up at him with her innocent blue eyes looking hopeful of his reply.

Was she asking him out? He wondered.

The usual voice warning him to stay away from her rang again at the back of his head, but the brightness in her eyes and the building hope within them made him suddenly ignore the voice and said, “Alright.” His gaze had softened significantly.

She beamed, “Really? I’ll really wait for you even if you don’t come back early.”

She knew that sometimes he tended to take a long time outside if he left, most of the time he would return in the middle of the night. So she let him know that she would still wait even if he took a long period of time.

He smiled, making her look dazed again, the familiar dimples on his cheeks made him look even more alluring with the backdrop of the morning sun from behind him outside.

“I’ll be back before dinner.”

Hearing him agree made her smile even wider, and he smiled back,

“Have a nice day.” She said sweetly.

To which she saw a delightful glint flash in his hazel eyes before he uttered, “You too.” Then turned around to leave.

After he left Celine happily smiled to herself while blushing brightly, his smile was capable of melting stone, she thought. Then quickly raced to the door peeking to watch his back as he walked away until he disappeared from her line of sight.

The small exchange between them had significantly elevated her mood, she happily rearranged the stuff in the room while foolishly glancing at the time repeatedly hoping time flies by soon so it would be evening.

She found herself unable to wait for the sun to set so she could get to spend time with him while they had dinner. Perhaps that was how it felt to be in love, every moment is insignificant unless spent beside the one your heart beats for.

In a fancy room at the resort in Rowena main city.

Ryan sat by the tall windows with a smirk on his face, and an expectant glint in his eyes, he seemed to be patiently waiting for something.

In less than a minute, someone knocked on the door of his room, making him quickly stand up with eagerness in his steps as he rushed to open the door.

A man was standing outside his room, dressed in the uniform of the messengers from the old dwellings, one couldn’t tell if he was really from the old dwellings or was wearing the uniform as a disguise, Ryan shifted aside giving him room to come in.

“Did you finish arranging everything according to my instructions?” Ryan asked as the man entered the room.

“Yes Mr Blakewood, I’ve got everything in place already, I can already go in and out of the old dwellings without raising any suspicions, I’ve also prepared for all the other things you asked for, at the restaurant, and also, a suite in the resort.” The man explained in a respectful manner.

Ryan smirked, satisfaction gleaming in his eyes, “Good, you know what to do tonight right?”

“Yes Mr Blakewood, I’ll follow everything according to plan”

“Make sure that you don’t raise any suspicions, if this plan fails… You know what you stand to lose.” There was an undisguised threat in Ryan’s words, his tone holding a malicious intent.

“I assure you Mr Blakewood, everything will go according to plan.” The man seemed frightened of Ryan’s threat, he quickly gave his word of assurance.

He nodded, “Alright, you may go.”

The man turned around and left the room after that closing the doors behind him.

Ryan stood inside his room gazing out of the window, with a look of triumph on his face.

“I told you right, I’ll do everything to make you mine.” He muttered to himself with a smug expression.

Not once had he ever been denied of anything he wanted, be it wealth, or women, but Celine had repeatedly denied him any chance to even woo her not to mention having her as his own, she had even gone as far as to hit him almost breaking his arm, now she had given him no choice but to take her by himself, whether she liked it or not.

Ever since she and Tristan went to the old dwellings, Ryan had been constantly trying different ways to get inside himself, but he was repeatedly denied entrance, which made him cook up a wonderful plan that would not just let him see Celine, but make her his once and for all.

“Don’t you worry my feisty beauty, after tonight, you can only be mine and mine alone, we’ll see just how that foolish cousin of mine will react to losing the woman he has affections for.” Ryan smiled slyly.
