Chapter 2: Steal The Bride

“Sir, do you know the couple getting married here today?” Tristan’s assistant Kaleb followed hurriedly behind him.

“No.” He replied succinctly and emotionlessly but for some reason, his mind kept drifting back to the bride.

“Sir, don’t you keep up with entertainment news? This is the so called wedding of the year, everyone on the internet is going crazy because their favorite female movie diva is getting married to the popular Ian Rode, a chart breaking musician.”

Movie diva?

So that woman was an actress? Tristan wondered as he listened silently to the information his assistant was feeding him.

While thinking, he couldn’t help but see the bride flash by his mind again. Her pure white delicate shoulders which boasted of beautiful collar bones. Her skin was milky smooth and supple, he couldn’t help but wonder how it would feel to the touch.

A trail of heat trickled through him once more and he muttered a curse.

“Fuck!”

“What’s wrong, sir?” Kaleb who’d been yapping suddenly stopped and asked.

“Nothing, I just suddenly feel the urge to steal something and have a taste.” Tristan remarked with a strange smirk on his face.

Kaleb however frowned in confusion.

His boss wanted to steal something?

What could a multi-billionaire like him who lacked absolutely nothing in the world want to steal.

The man was the head of the famous Grayson industries, the largest chain of corporations in the whole country.

“What…do you want to steal sir, I can go get it for you.” Kaleb asked thinking it was something that could be bought with money.

Tristan suddenly stopped walking, turing to the direction of the wedding hall they’d just left with a far away look in his eyes as he muttered, “The bride.”

Kaleb went still as if someone who’d been electrocuted.

Are you crazy boss? You want to steal someone’s bride?

In all honesty, Tristan wondered the same thing.

Was he losing his damn mind?

The woman was in there, saying eternal vows to her fiancee, and here he was imagining what she would look like without the wedding dress and what parts of her body he would taste first.

“Hello, Mr Grayson.” A bunch of ladies standing around the Grecian style hallways that led to the private conference room greeted him just before he entered.

They all flashed him suggestive smiles eagerness to be picked visible in their eyes. This was something he’d gotten used to for a very long time, ever since he started growing up, he’d already realized his looks were enough to attract the hungry gazes of women wherever he went.

Though Tristan usually wouldn’t pay them any attention, he stopped to look at them assessively.

A trace of glee showed in their eyes at the thought that Tristan Grayson was checking them out.

He frowned in displeasure, noticing something extremely strange.

This was weird, none of these women were giving him the feeling that bride gave him. Which meant he wasn’t touch starved, nor was it the stress making him desire a woman.

It was specifically that woman in a wedding dress.

Did he suddenly grow some sort of fetish for wedding dresses?

Or was it the glistening in that pair of blue eyes that reminded him of snow mixed with ocean blue, could it be the riveting emotions of helplessness he’d caught in their depths, or the quiet seductiveness of her aura?

“Mr Grayson, I was hoping to see you tonight so I insisted on coming with my father to the meeting. If you don’t mind…can we have a little talk after the meeting Is over?” This particular young woman who’d decided to boldly speak to him and break through his thoughts was extremely curvy, the dress she wore couldn’t keep her boobs concealed they practically threatened to spill.

The man’s gaze however was indifferent, Tristan was known to indulge in his fun with several mistresses here and there comprising of the most elite women in Neville, yet he was a workaholic, emotionally detached whose whole life purpose laid in his work, however there were rumors that he was a beast in bed.

This girl called Nelly had especially wanted to try him out to boast to her friends. Though it was a well known fact that the man detested the very idea of marriage and committed relationships, getting a little fling with him would be something to absolutely boast about, but she didn’t expect him to give her a derisive look and silently walk past her as if she was just air.

In his mind, despite the fact that a woman was openly throwing herself at him, all he could see was that bride. All he could see was that single moment their gazes met.

Ice like blue eyes that glistened with unshed tears, deep red lips that reminded him of blood poured onto the luscious petals of a flower, and a heart shaped face set on a long slim neck.

He knew beauties, all the women he’d had were at the very top of the beauty list in Neville but he hadn’t seen any like her, indeed she was what people called a rare beauty.

Despite himself, Tristan found himself stopping once more staring behind at the direction of the wedding hall.

A shame, it truly was a shame.

Though he didn’t believe in love or marriage, If he had met her a day sooner, before she was walking down that aisle, perhaps he might have really stolen her.

That subtle look of pain in her eyes seemed to claw at him inside, especially that subtle movement as her hands clenched into fists, he could read people instantly and ultimately he’d recognized the distress in that little action. It seemed to bother him immensely, yet he caught himself short frowning at the direction of his own thoughts.

Why would he care about whatever she was feeling?

She was a complete stranger, he shouldn’t find himself bothered about her emotional state. As the main founder and CEO of Grayson Industries, he prided himself with strict discipline and emotional control, he cared little to nothing for other people’s emotional states.

Clearing the thought from his mind, he regained his strict professional demeanor and walked into the conference room still plagued by the bride’s gaze and a tiny tug in his chest.
