Chapter 87: He Still Likes Her

His lips was warm and moist against her own.

Her heart suddenly began to beat faster, memories from that night began to pour in like a torrential rain, it was as if the seal she had used to lock them up at the back of her mind was immediately undone by a single kiss.

She wanted to put up a resistance, wanted to push him away but his arms only grabbed her tighter.

His tongue parted her lips, invading her mouth in a sensual dance as it entangled with her tongue, devouring her mouth hungrily like a ravenous beast who had been starving for centuries. He bit down on her lip with a searing ache and need, a familiar warm tingling sensation rose up her spine.

She could feel his warm hand trail up her back that grabbed the back of her head and drew her backwards slightly then dipped into her mouth once more. Urgently he pulled her closer, so close she could feel the unbearable heat from his body and the taut muscles of his rigid chest from inside the fabric that separated them.

Her knees suddenly seemed to be going weak, she clung on tightly to his shirt, she couldn’t breathe, but a flaming heat had awoken in her, a desperate desire that frightened her and took her back to that night five years ago as if she were actually reliving that moment. Those forbidden memories pulled her back to her senses as it reminded her of how much it had hurt and disappointed her to wake up to him gone, to wake up to the realization that the connection she felt between them might have been one sided.

Celine immediately mustered a bit more strength and pushed him away, after a second she raised her hand and fiercely swiped it across his face, her palm stung from the impact but the glare in her eyes never wavered, her breath coming in heavy with her face utterly flushed.

He didn’t seem fazed by the slap, he smirked then glanced at her. “Do you remember now, or will you continue to pretend?”

He took another step closer to her and added, “And there’s a whole lot more that happened that night I could remind you of.”

She panicked and quickly stepped backwards. “I never thought a man of your stature would be one to harbor delusions Mr Grayson, but then let me break it to you once more, we have never met before. I invested in this company because I found it worthy and I can as well sell off the damn shares whenever the hell I want. Clearly you’re arrogant and you look down on women, I don’t think any woman would remember you no matter how memorable the moment you claim to have shared with her might be.”

Celine took a deep breath to control her anger, she dusted off her clothes as if she had come in contact with something dirty then turned around to leave but paused before reaching the door to say, “And…take this as a warning or not but don’t let this ever repeat itself, if consent is a foreign language to you I assure you I know where to report sexual assault.”

She slammed the door immediately she walked out.

Tristan ran his tongue over his lips, he could still taste her. His fingers trailed through his hair as he paced a few steps around the office for a moment then went back to sit in his chair.

He could remember the feeling of suddenly being plagued with the hunger to taste her lips again and without even thinking he had done it, and now it was rekindling a flame, he felt uneasy.

He scoffed softly, he wouldn’t deny it, arrogance ran in his veins but this was the first time he was openly being called out for it by someone. Others were perhaps too scared to even look him in the eye to say something like that to him.

Tristan placed both his elbows on the table grabbing his head in his palms, this woman would be the death of him and now she had returned to torment him, she even dared to pretend not to remember him.

No matter how convincing she looked or sounded, he wouldn’t believe she really had forgotten him. Had she not remembered him, he wouldn’t have felt her melt into his kiss, if she truly had forgotten, that kiss would have meant nothing to her.

His hand touched the side of his face where she had hit and the edge of his lips curled slightly to his utter chagrin.

Five years…yet it seemed whatever she had planted into his heart since that night lived on, he might have fought off the memories but the will to fight it completely dissipated when he set his eyes on her.

She had damaged him back then, making it impossible for him to be with anyone else, and he’d never been able to erase her from his mind, to stop craving her, to stop wanting her so intensely.

A knock suddenly sounded on his office door making his thoughts of her come to a screeching halt. Tristan composed his expression before calling, “Come in.”

Kaleb peeked his head into the office first to check for any signs of danger judging by the president’s expression, then walked into the office when he noticed the air was clear.

Tristan seemed to have resumed his work, leaving Kaleb standing there.

After a while, Tristan glanced up and seeing the look in Kaleb’s eyes he asked, “What is it?”

It was evident Kaleb wanted to say something but he was hesitating.

“Well…that woman, Miss Roberts, I saw her with Ryan just now.” As Kaleb had expected, the minute he said those words, Tristan stiffened, a flash of anger in his fiery eyes. Kaleb confirmed his suspicion.

’I was right, he still likes her.’

“And Ryan escorted her to her office…right next to his own, he said it was so they can get to meet each other anytime they want.” Kaleb reported noticing every change in his boss’s expression. “But she hasn’t been assigned a position yet, so I heard Ryan say…”

As Kaleb stopped talking, leaving the rest of his words a mystery, Tristan glanced up at him asking coldly, “Said what?”

“He said that he would appoint her as the executive vice president so that she can always be by his side, he was clearly flirting with her but with his looks women won’t be able to resist him, so I’m sure it won’t be long before she…” Kaleb paused as he saw Tristan glare at him, he could tell why he was being glared at but he continued anyway, “…ends up in his bed.”

Kaleb was suddenly frightened by a loud sound. It took him a second to realize that Tristan had slammed his fist over his desk.
