Chapter 41: What Had She Done?

It had been almost a month now, but not a single day passed that he hadn’t thought about her.

Tristan hated commitments, he hated women who would come after him with a desire to be more to him than just a temporary fun. He hated the idea of being attached, but why was he suddenly feeling the urge to find her and keep her… permanently.

He recalled every single thing about her…her face, the innocence in her beautiful ocean blue eyes, her shy blushes, everything.

Ever since that morning he had walked out of Crown hotels, his mind had been filled with images of Celine. When he was going to sleep, he would think about her and feel a sinking emptiness in his life which he’d been living perfectly before her, whenever he woke up, his head would be filled with images of her, she had now become like a ghost haunting his life, his dreams, his every waking moment.

A few weeks ago, he’d taken a woman to erase Celine’s memories from his head, but he hadn’t been able to touch her. Kisses weren’t his thing, but with Celine it had felt phenomenal…it never felt that way with other women.

Just like what happened a while ago, he had even in the past acknowledged that Erica was an attractive woman, however he had drawn strict lines between them, today he had broken those lines. When his lips touched her own, there hadn’t been that explosive feeling of fire…there had just been emptiness. Only one woman’s face repeatedly appeared in his mind.

Tristan hated the feeling of losing control over his own emotions, if he had been an emotional person then he would never have gotten to this stage of his life, he would never have climbed to this level of success all alone in his life.

He let out a drawled breath, cupping his head in his palms to calm his mind. How could he have known that having a single night would ruin him into being utterly restless about wanting to see her again…he had all but stalked her when he would wait at that entertainment company every morning just to get a glimpse of her.

At first he had thought if he had her for that one night, he would be satisfied and would no longer feel these strange emotions towards her, but now he knew that if he made the single mistake of trying to see her again, then he might never want to let go of her again. Just like the other day she had fainted in his arms, it had taken a lot of will to tear himself away from her and clear off every traces of him ever being anywhere near her. This fact, made him want to do everything never to see her again.

It took about half an hour for Tristan to sort himself out and get all thoughts of Celine out of his head. It almost felt like she had ruined him, destroyed him that he wanted nothing and no one else but her.

If he wanted to return to his normal self again, he would have to erase every memory of the fact that he had ever met and been with Celine Roberts, that was the only way he would return back to the him he had always been. The cold and emotionless Tristan Grayson.

Tristan made a firm resolve to get anything and everything related to Celine far away from him.

He wouldn’t listen to news about her, would get rid of the things he had begun to accumulate just because they reminded him of her…that was the only way.

“Miss Roberts.” A nurse walked out of the ward to address Celine who was sitting all alone at the waiting area. She had fully booked this appointment with her doctor today so no one would see her, lest news started to spread and her pregnancy might get leaked to the public.

“Yes?” Celine answered, glancing up at the nurse from the baby magazine she’d found on the table at the waiting area. For some reason, seeing the cute images of the children on the magazine, her heart clenched at what she was about to do.

It wasn’t as if she disliked children, in fact she adored them and would have liked to have a child of her own had she been in different circumstances.

“You may go in, the doctor will see you now.” The nurse said politely.

“Thank you.” Celine smiled at the nurse then walked into the office.

“Miss Roberts, please take a seat.” The doctor gestured glancing up at her from a stack of paperwork.

“Everything is set, if you’re ready we can begin the procedures of abortion immediately.” The doctor said after making some preparations.

Celine hesitated for a few seconds before she got up from her seat and said firmly, “I’m ready.”

The doctor smiled awkwardly before saying,

“I’ll have you know that this is a very big decision, though I’ve given you a few days to think it over, now that you’re here, you can take a few minutes to think this through one last time, if your decision remains the same, then we’ll start the procedure at once.”

Celine didn’t hesitate, because she knew that if she stopped to think, she would confuse herself even more, she immediately replied,

“There’s no need for that, I’ve already decided to go through with the abortion.”

It was fortunate that the doctor was a very professional person, there was no question of the confidentiality of her abortion. Her information would never be leaked to the public no matter the circumstances.

Seeing her firm resolve, the doctor could only sigh and agree to her decision. In this world, there were countless people looking to have a child but were unable to, and others just didn’t want the responsibility, the doctor wasn’t one to judge after all it all depended of each person’s personal life situations and decision.

She proceeded with the steps of doing her job, soon the procedures for the abortion were all readied and Celine laid on the operation bed.

A little less than an hour later.

Celine walked out of the hospital and quickly drove to her apartment, the strange expression on her face showed a mixture of heartache, disappointment, and slight uncertainty.

She hadn’t done anything rigorous, but she felt utterly drained, when she walked into her large and empty home, she glanced around the place listlessly, her hand subconsciously moved to caress her flat belly and a tear slowly slid down her beautiful face.
