Chapter 72: Who Else Could It Be?

Back then, rumors about her had suddenly blown things out of proportion pushing her into having no choice but to leave the country. She knew there could be no one else behind it but him.

Her reputation had been completely ruined back then, so she certainly didn’t hold back with every time she hit Ian.

“Stop… please stop, Celine…stop!!!” Ian was panting like a hundred kilogram pig being dragged to the slaughterhouse. Of course she didn’t listen to him, his pleas fell on deaf ears.

Mercy? Did he have mercy on her when he chose to spread those rumors about her years ago?

There was no way Ian could charge her for what she did here to him tonight, not if he didn’t want to reveal that he had booked a hotel suite with an alias name to take a woman from the entertainment industry to bed, it would shatter his image. He blackmailed new and inexperienced artists with their careers or enticing deals he could give them as long as he had their bodies in return.

For the past few years, he had gotten even worse. Teen girls with aspirations of becoming singers were his new targets. He ran a program called ’Dreams’ making young girls who could sing sign up and be picked from an audition with the excuse of aiming to make the dream of his fans come true, but in reality their talent wasn’t the only thing being judged.

Their physical appearance would be appraised, Ian only picked and approved the most beautiful girls he found physically attractive. For months they would be mentored, transformed into beautiful female star potential, they would be shown fame and the benefits it would bring, but at the very last moment, the show or contract which would guarantee their career would be dangled in front of their eyes but Ian wouldn’t hand it to them, not until they gave their bodies.

With Ian’s power, no one would be able to expose him, no one would be able to get evidence enough. There have been rumors with some of the girls participating in the Dream contest going missing. Celine was a hundred percent sure that Ian had something to do with it. Perhaps girls who refused him and might have thought of exposing him.

In the past she might have feared Ian, but times had changed and it was her turn to deal him agony.

Celine had deliberately used this weakness of his and the fact that he wouldn’t be able to utter a word of what she did to him here tonight to vent all her rage upon him.

After kicking him a few more times, she finally stopped. Watching him sprawled across the floor of his incredibly spacious VIP suite with drops of blood staining the clean floors.

Ian struggled, groaning while trying to move his busted lips.

Celine used this as a chance to take a break, she sat herself right on the sofa and elegantly crossed her leg over the other.

“What? Can’t speak?” She enjoyed watching Ian struggle to speak. “Go on, say something. What do you have to say?”

Fury flashed in his eyes and he gritted his teeth then forced the words out, “Goddamn it Celine, have you gone mad?”

Celine smiled wryly, glancing casually at her nails. “Yes, you can say that. You drove me to madness with those stupid rumors five years ago. Now, give me a good reason why I shouldn’t beat you into a useless cripple.”

A genuinely confused look showed on Ian’s face.

“What? What rumors? You actually think I spread those rumors about you?” The disbelief on Ian’s face looked somewhat genuine, “Fuck, was that why you hit me?”

“Why else would I have the time to waste of a piece of shit?” Her eyes frightened him, she looked ready to tear flesh off his bones.

“Look, Celine…It wasn’t me…” Ian said hissing in pain as he tried to push himself upwards.

“Say my name again and I swear…” The sound of her own name coming from him was infuriating, she didn’t want to hear it.

“Okay, fine…fine.” Ian hurriedly raised his hands in surrender, fearing she would get up again to hit him. He had been cornered by her tonight, if he called for help he would expose himself.

“Those rumors about you five years ago, I heard about them…but I had nothing to do with it.”

Celine sneered, “Do you think I’m going to believe you just because you say so?”

“I swear!” He shouted when she moved closer threatening to hit his face which he quickly shielded with his hands.

“I swear I didn’t spread those rumors, after that press conference my popularity soured by leaps, I was drowned with so many new projects, everybody loved me wherever I appeared, I no longer had a reason to come after you.”

Ian would admit he had been incredibly angry after the little stunt she pulled where she had used his own credit card to book escorts creating a scandal for him, but it hadn’t affected all the fame he had gotten from being the broken lover abandoned at the altar or the amount of love he was receiving from the world.

He had forgotten about Celine when he had so many things on his plate and he realized he had finally reached god level heights in his career where he could control anything he wanted in the entertainment industry.

He only had time to remember Celine when he heard the rumors stating she slept around and had gotten pregnant.

Ian’s words caused Celine to be in thought. She knew what Ian had truly wanted from her back then was to use her to boost his own fame and by running away from the wedding, he had received a big boost as people couldn’t stop talking about the drama.

It had indeed caused him to rise higher and higher, even more than it would have had he married her, so it did make sense that he would no longer have a reason to come after her anymore when he had gotten what he wanted.

If he wasn’t lying to her and if he really wasn’t the one behind it, then who else could it be?

Lilian?

A smile of understanding dawned on Celine’s face. “It seems this is your little lover’s doing after all.”

“Who, Lilian?” Ian scoffed, “I was done with that bitch a long time ago, why would I keep that uncontrollable sl*t as my lover. I just had fun with her once, that’s all.”

Whatever happened between Ian and Lilian was no longer her business and frankly she no longer cared, all she wanted were answers to identify her enemy so she could give them a taste of their own medicine.

If Ian was clueless then it could only mean Lilian had worked alone. The girl did vow to ruin her after all.

Ian finally managed to sit up, forcing himself up. He gazed up at Celine’s face as she was lost in thought. He had to admit, she had grown even more beautiful, she was no longer the timid and naive girl from five years ago.

The lights filtered against her skin making it dazzle like porcelain. She was more beautiful now and she had changed a lot, even if she had just beaten him up, Ian couldn’t help but see her irresistible allure the more he looked at her. Ian cursed himself, why the hell had he allowed himself to lose the chance in the past to get her in his bed.

She had been beautiful even back then but he hated how naive she had been so he had never forcefully touched her, but looking at her right now, there was no way any man could resist her beauty.

The rumors had said she was pregnant and there had even been evidence of that so she was clearly no longer a blushing virgin but who cares, this alluring seductress in front of him was too much to resist. He couldn’t tear that thought out of his head especially because he hadn’t gotten a taste of her yet, but there was still a chance…

One thing Ian took pride in was his ability to gain people’s trusts. If Celine were to slowly trust him again…

He would certainly take his chance to get her in his bed, not just that, he would make her beg desperately for what she had done to him tonight.

“Celine…” Ian called lowering his voice his eyes looking earnest and pained….
