Chapter 138: Does It Hurt?

He’d been starved for too long, that was just what this could be…

This crazy rush of heat immediately her body collided with his own, this loud uncontrollable rapid thumping his heart was making against his ribcage, how excruciatingly painful it was not to kiss her despite the fact that she’d fallen into his arms.

His eyes roamed her lovely face up close, her eyes were big and bright with a beautiful sheen in her blue orbs, she had a small nose and full luscious lips.

Her lips, fuck! He couldn’t take his eyes off them now, nor could he control the tightening hunger to kiss her, no matter how many times he’d kissed her, his hunger for her lips would only intensify even more.

And right now, his body wasn’t just longing for a kiss, he wanted more, his gaze roamed down her long and fair neck down to her collarbones, her chest rose and fell with each heavy breath, the swells on her chest were sparsely visible with her being this close…a part of his body hardened, an electrocuting tingle spreading low in his belly.

Celine felt the heat of his gaze almost searingly, his eyes fell on her lips and she swallowed, her breath catching as she recalled the hotness of the way he’d kissed her the other day. Her body became alert, aware of the rigid planes of his muscular frame, when his gaze travelled down her neck she couldn’t stop the rush of heat pooling up between her legs.

As if awakened by something, she quickly pulled away from his hold, steadying herself. She needed to get far away from him, it was so easy for her to fall into the delicious charms of desiring him as long as she was close to him. She created some distance between them and walked away to a far end where she couldn’t even perceive his scent.

The moment she pulled away, Tristan jolted back to his senses quickly realizing that a moment later and he would have her pressed down on the bed in the inner room of his lounge, teaching her body how to crave him all over again. A semblance of control returned and he tamed the furious heat inside.

Several long seconds of silence passed before her voice drifted over, soft and quiet, “The timer… it’s on eleven hours now. Would it take that long for the security check to be done?” It was clear she wanted to get away from there. Of course she would, if he had an alms of control he wouldn’t have made her feel uncomfortable just now.

Tristan frowned, “A twelve hour security check only happens once a year, it’s been done two months ago.”

“Then why is it still happening now?” She turned to him, her frustration evident in her eyes. The moment their eyes met both of them went still, each one holding a hidden subdued emotion.

Tristan looked away, grabbing his phone again. “Still no signal.”

Celine looked down at hers too, it was still the same. What was going on?

Should she perhaps scream very loudly at the top of her lungs, surely someone would hear her and rush over right? It was just a thought, when it registered in her mind she shook her head realizing it was a stupid thought.

Who would hear her from this high up on a floor that had no offices and no one ever came here? She smiled at her own silly thoughts.

“Is something funny, why are you smiling?” She looked up to find him watching her and the smile on her face slowly fell.

“I just thought of screaming out really loud to call for help.”

“A scream coming straight from my lounge, don’t you think people would assume I locked you in here to do something terrible to you?” He queried, light amusement dancing in his eyes almost as if he were teasing her.

“What could you possibly do to make me scream?” She had said the words before realization seemed to settle in her mind. She almost bit off her tongue for saying that.

With a smirk he stalked closer, taking single steps at a time, “Believe me, so many things.”

All of a sudden, her legs began to move backwards, there was a strange air of danger in the way he approached her and the more he got closer to her, the more she felt the need to make an escape. But unfortunately for her, the space behind her ended as her back came upon the wall.

With a single step more he closed the distance between them and he was standing just a breath away from her, “Would you like to have a try?”

“T-try what?” She stuttered.

“Do things that will make you scream.” He uttered in a whisper.

Celine swallowed audibly.

This man was a walking temptation, she realized. Here she was trying to escape him, but she was being enchanted by sinful thoughts he was planting in her head and the seductive sound of his voice.

Celine quickly pushed against his chest and circled around him to get out of the trap between him and the wall, she felt like she couldn’t breathe so she had to take in sharp ragged pants. “I’ll just…wait until Kaleb comes. He’s bound to come here to check on you if I don’t return quickly.” She said looking at everything else but him.

Do things that’ll make her scream? Now she had dirty images surfacing in her mind at those words.

She heard a small low chuckle from him. Was he just messing with her?

She felt his shadow still looming over her from behind, she panicked trying to quickly walk away from him but her heel suddenly twisted because of her haste and she felt a sharp pain shoot up her foot, but before she could lose balance and fall he steadied her by holding her arm.

“Walk carefully.” He said and she almost wished he hadn’t spoken at all, between the pain and the rushing wave of anticipation at his touch, she felt his touch more intensely with sparks dancing under her skin.

“It’s okay, I’m fine.” She tried to pull herself out of his grip, but the moment she took a single step she sucked in a sharp painful breath, she wasn’t able to fully stand on her foot it hurt like hell, she had to grab his arm for balance.

He sighed, and the next moment she felt herself sway, her feet left the floor and she was carried securely in his arms.

“Wait…” She gasped. But without even giving her enough time to react he took her to the sofa, placing her gently onto it.

He lowered himself downwards, kneeling by the floor next to her feet and she would have sworn she caught a deep concern in his hazel eyes.

“I… I’m really fine.” She said as he picked up her leg. He held her smooth calf in his large palm, slowly removing her shoe. Celine felt a cold shiver in her body then a rush of warmth from the part of her leg he was holding. He said nothing to reply her words but frowned deeply at a red mark around her ankle.

She tried to pull her leg out of his hand but he held firm, not too tight to hurt her but not too loosely enough she could get away.

“This wouldn’t have happened if you were careful.” He said, lightly scolding, then gently rubbed at her ankle.

She bit her lip to hold back a gasp, instead of pain, what she felt was a tingling sensation that ran up from where his thumb caressed.

“Does it hurt?” He asked in a low voice.

She was still muddle headed for a second, lost in the sensations his touch caused, but when his eyes lifted to her, questioning, she quickly replied, “N-no.”

He added a bit of pressure to his light touch and she winced, seeing her reaction, he lessened the pressure and gently massaged around her ankle. She almost let out a yielding sigh but she stopped it from coming out audibly.

Her toes curled with every brush of his coarse thumb.

Oh heavens! She almost exclaimed internally. His soft yet gentle motion around her ankle brought a tiny hint of pain and more rush of pleasure, the warmth of his palm seeping into her skin, she almost envisioned his hand slowly moving upwards, disappearing somewhere beneath her clothes and then…

Good lord! She was having naughty thoughts.

She wanted to pull away but the gentle movements of his hand was so soothing, yet incredibly seductive. Was she supposed to feel this way when he was just helping her after she’d hurt herself? Right now she was being pulled into a myriad of sensations that sent her heart on a sprint, turning her brain to mush.

If she were to give in to her body right now, she would reach her hand forward, lift his face and let her lips melt against his own.
