Chapter 214: Meet Someone

The party went on for several hours. Celine greeted a lot of guests alongside Tristan. She had no idea that, along with the surprise proposal, he had also organized a party.

“Congratulations, Mr. Grayson, Miss Roberts.” One of Tristan’s business acquaintances shook hands with him to offer congratulations.

“Thank you.” Celine smiled politely.

“Thank you, Mr. Patterson.” Tristan gave a curt nod.

Celine looked up at Tristan and smiled brightly.

“I’m sorry for organizing the party without informing you. I just wanted to give you a surprise. If you feel tired and need to rest, I can have a suite arranged for you,” Tristan said, worried that the party might stress her out.

“No, you don’t have to apologize. I love it, and I’m not tired at all. I’m fine.”

Seeing the bright smile on her face, Tristan smiled back.

Looking around, Celine felt extremely grateful for all the people who had supported her during this journey to get here. However, she soon frowned. “Where is Natalia? I saw her over there just now… where could she have gone?” Celine mumbled silently.

Tristan noticed the frown and faintly heard her mumbling. “What’s wrong? Are you looking for someone?” he asked.

“No, I’m just wondering where Natalia could have gone, but it’s alright. Maybe she went to the restroom.”

“Alright, come. I’d like you to meet someone.” Tristan said, taking her hand. Celine nodded and went with him.

They moved across the hall, smiling and accepting greetings from some of the guests.

“Come on, kids, let’s go meet someone,” he said, ruffling Leo’s hair while picking up Leah in his arms fondly.

“Who are we going to meet, Daddy?” Leo asked innocently as he got out of his chair with his mother’s help.

Tristan smiled at the sweet address of “Daddy” from the little boy but still replied, “Just two old people who pulled some crazy tricks to get a single great-grandchild in the past. I’m sure they never expected to already had two.”

The Blakewood patriarch was sitting alone at a table reserved for the family. All the other Blakewood family members who were invited were busy mingling around the party.

He had been waiting almost all night for that sneaky grandson of his Tristan to come over and introduce him to his fiancée, but the boy had kept entertaining his guests.

The family had received an invitation at home from one of Tristan’s employees, inviting them to the engagement party. Though they had all been surprised, the older man had also been incredibly overjoyed. Finally, the stubborn boy had come to his senses.

Seeing their adorable faces, the older man was eager to get to know the children, but he maintained his calm as Tristan and Celine approached the table.

“Grandfather,” Tristan greeted immediately as they reached the table.

“Hmph! So you finally decided to come over. You couldn’t even come home to announce your engagement. What are we, strangers? We only received an invitation from you last minute!”

“It all happened very fast, Grandfather. I apologize for not coming home personally,” Tristan said. The older man looked at his grandson in astonishment—he actually apologized?

“Alright, alright, I won’t cause a big deal out of this matter anymore. You can all have your seats,” the old man said magnanimously. However, his eyes remained on the adorable little children.

The table still had a lot of space. Tristan pulled out seats for Celine and the kids before taking his own.

“Grandfather, I’d like you to meet Celine Roberts, my fiancée,” Tristan introduced calmly.

“Yes, yes, I saw that—you just proposed in front of everyone! Couldn’t even bring her home for us to meet and welcome her into the family.” He seemed displeased at Tristan, but when he turned to Celine, he smiled widely.

“How are you, my child? It’s really pleasant to finally meet you.” The older man now beamed as if he hadn’t been upset a while ago. Meeting the one woman who had thawed the ice around this stubborn grandson of his felt almost impossible, yet the impossible had happened right in front of them…this boy who had sworn off marriage actually went on one knee to propose to a woman.

“I’m doing very well, sir. It’s pleasant to finally meet you too.”

“Oh, skip the formality, child. We’re all going to be one family soon. You can call me Grandfather, just like this grandson of mine does.”

“Yes, Grandfather.”

Laughing, the old man nodded in satisfaction. “Great, great. From now on, take the Blakewood family as your family. You’re free to visit the Blakewood home anytime. Also, if you ever need anything, do not hesitate to come to me.”

“I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you very much, Grandfather.” Celine couldn’t help but feel that this old man was very kind. He seemed to genuinely care for Tristan. “Hello, Great-Grandfather. My name is Leo.”

The older man shifted his gaze to Leo, that aloof little face, with the only difference from his father being his hair. He could see Tristan’s familiar hazel eyes, inherited from his own father now passed down to his son. It felt like he had been transported back to Tristan’s own childhood.

“Pleasant to meet you, Leo,” the old man said softly. “You should ask your Daddy to bring you over to the family home sometime, okay? I’ll have them prepare lots of delicious food, and you can do so many fun things and play as much as you like, alright?”

“Yes, Great-Grandfather.” The kids echoed before Leo returned to his seat.

“Great-Grandfather, can I sit beside you?” Leah asked sweetly.

“Of course.” The old man happily obliged, helping her up into a seat close by his side.

Leah kept staring at the old man, which made him curiously ask, “What is wrong, my dear? Is there something on this old man’s face?”

“No, I’m just thinking that Great-Grandfather is so handsome. No wonder Daddy is handsome as well.”

At the little girl’s comment, the old man was first amused and speechless, before bursting out laughing heartily. “Oh, child, you have such a sweet tongue. You think this old man is handsome? But I’m already very old.”

“Being old does not matter. Your looks only get slightly wrinkled, but they don’t disappear. Great-Grandfather still looks handsome. Along with that, you have many accomplishments as well. You must be very proud,” Leo added in a straightforward manner, unlike Leah’s cute way of speaking, but his words were still incredibly pleasing.

Leo seemed to genuinely like the kind old man, so it was understandable why he was so generous with his words.

“Hahaha!” The old man couldn’t stop laughing happily. “Wonderful! As expected of my great-grandchildren. See that, Tristan? Learn from these kids—they are just so sweet and sensible. Here they are, incredibly proud of their great-grandfather, while you barely even visit me at all.”

Tristan was about to speak when he suddenly went stiff, his eyes glued to a certain direction at someone slowly approaching their table.
