Chapter 98: Shameless

Begrudgingly, Celine had to allow Ryan take her on his sudden date. She silently sat in his car throughout the ride, not uttering a word.

It was best she got it over with and make him stop bothering her, though she didn’t want to be here with him she couldn’t risk the possibility of him knowing where she lived, that would definitely expose her children’s existence which would raise questions, she couldn’t put Leo and Leah on the line no matter what she had to go through. Even if she had to tolerate this unbearable person.

Ryan on the other hand tried in vain to start up a conversation, Celine was just unreceptive but regardless of her silence, it didn’t make him give up on trying to engage her. Celine wondered just why it seemed he never took a hint, if she clearly didn’t want to be around with, or talk to him, shouldn’t he know that she wasn’t interested in him at all?

Regardless of her cold silence, Ryan still continued to speak, mostly about himself, trying to show her how great of a man he was, Celine resisted rolling her eyes each time.

The car finally came to a stop in front of Levix, a fancy five star restaurant. Celine realized it was a new place since she hadn’t been there or heard of it before, it must have opened over the past few years she had been abroad. She glanced at the beautiful golden logo in front of the building that had the words ’Levix’ written boldly.

Ryan led her through the revolving entrance doors of the restaurant, the place was incredibly large, but all the tables were arranged meticulously with adequate distance from each other giving their customers enough privacy, however the whole restaurant looked empty, not a single table was occupied.

Celine cast Ryan a quizzical look but he only smirked deviously at her, the next second, all the lights in the restaurant went off plunging them into darkness.

Celine gasped in shock, she could no longer see a thing, not even her own shadow, but before she could make a reaction, another source of light came on, making her breathe in relief.

In the middle was a round table with candles on it, the light came from the candles suddenly being lit. She sighted Ryan by the table lighting the candles one after the other.

So this dumb man planned to have a candle lit dinner date but he didn’t see the need to warn her that it would be getting dark for a second? She had been quite scared, beginning to think he had more terrible intentions for her than he let on, which had made her more alert for a second.

“Come sit.” Ryan called after lighting all the candles.

He seemed impressed with himself judging from the tilt on his lips, but she still wasn’t interested even if he would jump to the moon and back, nevertheless she sat down silently before saying,

“I hope you remember you only have an hour, by now you should have about…” She glanced down at her wrist watch before adding, “About forty five minutes.” She stated, quite relieved that time would probably be up soon.

“What’s the rush, anything can happen in foty five minutes.” He leaned in over the table, ” You might even end up falling in love with me.”

Celine scoffed, “It’s a nice thing to dream Mr Blakewood, but in reality, those dreams tend to get shattered.”

He sat down on his seat, folding his arms over his chest as he said, “Ryan, if you don’t call me by my name, I might just insist on spending the night at your house.”

Celine’s eyes turned to a sharp glare. So he was threatening her with this again?

Could it be, he suspects that she has something to hide at home, or…does he know something about her.

Celine’s eyes narrowed at his threat, trying to decide if this Ryan was just another spoilt brat who was too confident about himself or an enemy she should keep her guard up against.

“I never expected you to be this shameless Ryan.” She uttered his name calmly, trying to assess if there was any hidden hostility in his eyes.

He smirked, “I can be even more shameless honey, if only to hear my name from your lovely lips.”

She would really throw up if this idiot continued to flirt like this, so lame and old fashioned.

Celine ignored him, it was useless to keep talking to someone with a loose screw in the head.

Ryan clapped his hands, his chest puffed up as if he were waiting to see an impressed look in her eyes as several waiters suddenly showed up, walking over bearing trays of different delicacies steaming with delicious aromas as they opened the lids. Celine glanced down at the feast, every dish looked mouthwatering.

She might have a problem with Ryan but food, she had nothing against it, in fact eating would distract her from his annoying presence, so she began anticipating tasting the food.

She realized something and suddenly pulled on some restraint. She was supposed to be on a strict diet, she couldn’t eat any of this.

But then the air she breathed brought in a delicious aroma, resisting good food was truly a torture.

Well, technically she had broken the rules of her diet a few days ago when she’d eaten past her limit, it doesn’t matter, she would go to the gym to work it all out, but one should never ignore good food.

Ryan had a confident smile on his face, whatever woman he wanted, he would certainly get. Women were all the same, each one had different likes and dislikes and the key to their little heart was finding out what they loved the most. As for Celine, since he wanted her, he’d certainly kept an eye on her these past few days.

He noticed the fact that she was someone who had specific taste in food and when those tastes were met, she would be absolutely thrilled.

Of course in order to get to know her even deeper, he had done further research and investigation about her.

Celine Roberts, former movie star and the country’s darling on screen. That hadn’t been a surprise as he had felt something deeply familiar about her since the moment he saw her. So she was that actress who jilted a groom at the altar years ago.

Ryan’s interest in her had suddenly skyrocketed at that discovery.

Though during his background check on her, a few things about her didn’t add up. Five years ago she was said to have disappeared from the city because of some scandal to her career, whatever the scandal might have been he frankly didn’t care so he never dug it up, all celebrities go through scandals.

So his ultimate goal was to have sex with her, such feisty and confident women, it was more fulfilling to have them beneath you in bed to show them their place, he would definitely enjoy taming this wildcat.

“Let’s eat.” Ryan smiled, putting some dishes on her plate, but she merely took another plate and picked the dishes she wanted herself, without another word and began to eat while checking the time.

Ryan scoffed, it was only a matter of time before all her attitude would dissolve and he would get what he wanted from her.

Celine ate out of every single dish on the table, though the food was exquisite it definitely could not be compared to a dish from The Eclipse Kitchen, but then for normal standard, the food from Levix was top class, so Celine made sure to enjoy her meal.

She didn’t eat too much and dropped her cutleries after having a taste of everything. She picked up a tissue to wipe her mouth but Ryan suddenly stopped her by grabbing her hand, then took the piece of tissue from her.

Celine frowned as he reached over to wipe her lips as if she were a child who couldn’t do it herself, being treated so tenderly would have touched a woman’s heart, but all she felt towards Ryan was disgust.

He was beginning to get audacious, she never even gave him the permission to act so intimately with her. Just as she began to think of twisting that hand and hearing the sound of bone breaking, the lights in the restaurant suddenly turned on in full almost blinding for a second.

A dark shadow seemed to loom over them from afar, that dark shadow was oozing frigid air that made it hard to breathe.

Celine glanced up and suddenly, her gaze collided with deep hazel ones, sharp as if those eyes had fire within them, a dark and deadly kind of fire that seemed to bode evil.
